What are Echoes in Wuthering Waves?

After you defeat any enemy in the game, there is a chance that they will leave their afterimage. You can collect these, turning them into Echoes. Each Echo has its own set of skills, that you can equip on your character and use during combat. For example, some will heal while other will deal damage to enemies.

They are essentially the gear system of Wuthering Waves, with the added bonus of having useful skills that will lend a hand during combat.

After using this Ability, the current Resonator’s Attack increases by 15 for 25 seconds. Any damage dealt by the Mech Abomination is considered Outro Skill damage.
Mourning Aix4Celestial LightTransform into a Mourning Aix and perform 2 claw attacks in a row. Each attack deals 110% and 166% Spectro damage respectively. After the transformation, increase the current Resonator’s Spectro damage and Resonance Liberation damage by 12% for 15 seconds.
Rocksteady Guardian3Celestial Light, Rejuvenating GlowTransform into a Rocksteady Guardian and enter a defensive stance. If attacked, you will counterattack and deal Spectro damage based on the current Resonator’s’s maximum HP. Echo cost and stats in Wuthering Waves

Each Echo in Wuthering Waves has a cost that determines how much space it will take to equip. You will start with a default of 10 cost. But leveling up your Data Bank in Wuthering Waves actively increases the maximum cost limit to 12. Here is how cost is divided among the Echoes in Wuthering Waves:

  • 1 cost: Common enemies you can find roaming in the world
  • 3 cost: Elite enemies
  • 4 cost: Boss enemies

Each Echo contains one main, one secondary and six substats. Below is a list of main and secondary stat distribution among enemies based on their cost.

  • 1 Cost (Common): HP%, ATK%, DEF%
  • 3 Cost (Elite): HP%, ATK%, DEF%, Energy Regen%, Attribute DMG%
  • 4 Cost (Elite): HP%, ATK%, DEF% Crit Rate%, Crit DMG%, Healing Bonus%

All Sonata Effects in Wuthering Waves

Sonata Effect section in Wuthering Waves

Equipping two or five Echoes from the same category triggers the Sonata Effect in Wuthering Waves, a bonus you receive. Each resonator you unlock will need various Sonata Effect to fullfill their role effectively. Damage dealers will benefit from Crit or Attack boosts offered by these effects. Similarly supports will find Healing/Buffing effects most helpful.

This is basically the equivalent of Relics from Honkai Star Rail or Artifacts from Genshin.
