How Wuthering Waves summoning and gacha mechanics works

Wuthering Waves follows similar summoning gacha mechanics that you can see in games like Honkai Star Rail, Genshin Impact, and Tower of Fantasy. After pulling in any banner for a specified number of times, you are guaranteed to get a SSR or 5-star. Here are the known rates, pity and how banners generally work in Wuthering Waves.
Event/Rate Up Character Banner
- 5-star character base rates: 0.8%
- 5-star character overall rates: 1.8%
- There is a 50 percent chance of you receiving the featured character and the other 50 percent of receiving one from the Standard pool.
- You are guaranteed to receive a 5-star after 80 pulls and if you lose your 50-50, you are guaranteed to receive the ongoing rate-up characters.
Event/Rate Up weapon Banner
- 5-star weapon base rates: 0.8%
- 5-star weapon overall rates: 1.8%
- If you get 5* weapon it’s 100% guaranteed to get a rate up weapon, pity at 80 pulls. You will not receive any standard weapon from the Event weapon banner.
Permanent Character Banner
- 5-star character base rates: 0.8%.
- 5-star character overall rates: 1.8%.
- Random 5-star character. You are guaranteed to receive one within 80 pulls and pity resets once you get a 5-star.
Permanent Weapon Banner
- 5-star weapon base rates: 0.8%.
- 5-star weapon overall rates: 1.8%.
- If you get a 5-star weapon it’s 100% guaranteed to get the Selected weapon, pity at 80 pulls. You can select any weapon available before pulling.
You will also get a certain amount of currency while pulling in the banners that you can exchange in the Shop for copies of the ongoing Rate up characters as well as the Standard ones.
