With Yinlin finally going live in Wuthering Waves, you will get the opportunity to start her companion quest, Solitary Path. It’s one of the longer missions in the RPG, and there is a lot that you will need to do to complete it, including solving puzzles, entering a correct password, and beating a Mech Abomination.
So if you are looking to pull Yinlin and want to know a bit more about her then you might want to complete her companion quest. Below are all the necessary steps you will need to take to round out the Solitary Path quest in Wuthering Waves.
How to start Yinlin’s companion quest Solitary Path in Wuthering Waves
As Yinlin’s banner is currently active, you will find her questline sitting in your mission log. In order to activate it you will need to receive a call from Chixia. To do that,
- You will need to open the Quest tab from the pause menu.
- Now select Yinlin’s Solitary Path mission and start tracking it.
- You will now get a button prompt to receive Chixia’s call.
- Talk to her, and exhaust all of her dialogues, to activate the quest.
How to complete Yinlin’s Solitary Path in Wuthering Waves
Once the quest is active, here are a few steps you will need to take to complete the Solitary Path in Wuthering Waves:
Step 1: Talk to the Man with Hollow Eyes
Make your way to the first quest marker where you will find the Man with Hollow Eyes, Lirong, along with a little girl, Yuanyuan. Lirong will start to loose his temper during the conversation, but you see Yinlin stepping in before things take a turn for the worse.
Now you will have to evade the patrollers by picking up both of the items from the floor. Once the authorities pass, Yinlin reveals that the little girl is a metal puppet.
There will now be a cut scene, and after that, you will need to follow Lirong and head to the next quest marker. The location will be up a cliff, so be careful (hug the wall with a lot of foliage sticking out to make things easier).
Once you reach the quest location, you will need to protect Lirong from a group of Fractsidus members. Yinlin will help you during the encounter.
Step 2: Get all the dolls
The next step to completing Yinlin’s Solitary Path in Wuthering Waves will be to collect all of the dolls that are located throughout the forest. Here are a few places where you will find the doll:
- One of the dolls will be right infront of you, so just walk up to it and interact with it.
- The next one will be located to your right. So look around a bit till you find it.
- The third and final doll is to the left.
The gold circles marked on the mini-map will make it much easier to look for the dolls. So make sure you are not searching outside the highlighted area.
Step 3: Use the Sensors to find the markings
Equip the Sensor Module on your menu wheel and switch to Utility mode. Now to use the sensor you can either hold Tab to select it and then press T to use it if you are on a keyboard, or you can hold the left arrow button, press R1 to go to Utility, and then elect the Sensor and activate it by hilding L1 and Triangle on a controller.
If you are on mobile, you will need to press and hold the Grapple Hook icon, and then use the scroll wheel to be able to select the Sensor Module.
Upon using th sensor, the trail will lead you up the mountain, where you will find a big rock jutting out with a safehouse nestled on top of it.
Step 4: Enter the correct password
To enter the safehouse you will need to enter the correct password. Speak to Yinlin and she will give you the following riddle as a hint:
“Look at the lavender flowers and count the petals”
However, if you converse with her further, she is willing to automatically give you the password which is: 4,1,2,3.
Input this into the safe house wall to make your way in.
Step 5: Investigate the safe house
Once you are inside the safe house, you will need to retrieve the tablet which is present inside the box. Now approach the chair and read the document about the Seance Society.
Use the tablet to send out a frequency to notify Chixia of your location. However, you will need to match the Frequency Signal for it to work, and you can do this by pressing and holding the action button.
Once you reach a matching degree of 100%, you will have successfully complete this part of Yinlin’s Solitary Path quest in Wuthering Waves.
Make your way to the next quest marker, which is a camp. You will find members of the Seance Society there. Talk to them to reveal more about their organization.
In the midst of your interrogations, the camp will be attacked by some Tacet Discords, defeat theom and then head to the Puppet Factory to face the Dollmaker.
Step 6: Solve the puzzles to unlock the mechanism
For the next step you will need to solve three puzzles by taking control of the doll Zapstring. Completing them will unlock the mechanism that leads to the Dollmaker.
Puzzle 1
To solve the very first puzzle, you will need to:
- Walk up to the sphere-shaped device in the room and interact with it.
- Now you will need to manipulate the doll in a way that it stands on the square-shaped sensor which is in the centre of the room.
- Now stop controlling the doll and head out to face some overclocked exiles. Beat them to move onto the next puzzle.
Puzzle 2
Make your way to the next remote-controlled doll and do th following to complete the puzzle:
- The first thing you will need to do is to drop a cube in each of the square-shaped sensors in the room.
- Now interact with the device which will let you control the doll.
- Use Zapstring to make into the room surrounded by lazers. Make the doll stand in the middle of the square-shaped sensor.
You will once again be ganked by some overclocked exiles after completing the second puzzle.
Puzzle 3
Head down towards the third puzzle to,
- Interact with the device and take control of the doll for a final time.
- Make your way past the first st of lasers and make the doll stand on the square-shaped sensor.
- Finally, head to the next room, and do the exact same thing again.
You will eventually reach an elevator, which will lead you to the next area of the side quest.
Step 7: Use the Sense Camera to record every detail
You will now need to equip your Zoom Camera and use it to take pictures of the objects marked with purple waypoints. These are the items you will need to capture:
- The mech is located in the corner
- Barrels, located towards the end of the room
- The TV, which is located on the side
After taking the necessary images, you will need to defeat more exiles. After beating them, interact with the elevator to reach the top floor where you will finally meet the Dollmaker.
Step 8: Beat the Mech Abomination
The Mech Abomination in question is the dollmaker which is a half-doll and a half-human entity. There are three of its moves that you will need to look out for:
Left Hook:
- The boss will try and hit you with its left hand.
Ground Pound
- Slams the ground infront in an AoE.
Swirl Claw
- Spins in place and hits everything with its hands in a small radius.
Each of these moves can be easily countered by just dodging backward.
Once you have defeated the Dollmaker, make your way out of the Doll Factory with the help of the portal located at th center of the room.
Finally, head to the Bureau to give a statement, and then go through the final cutscene with Yinlin to complete the Solitary Path companion quest in Kuro Games’ RPG.

For completing the Solitary Path Companion Quest in Wuthering Waves you’ll be rewarded with:
