All map changes coming to League of Legends with Noxus season in 2025

Starting in 2025, League of Legends will receive an overall map theme centered on the region of Noxus. As confirmed in the latest Dev Update, the MOBA will be seeing major visual changes to the Rift along with significant adjustments to gameplay.

These changes will have a fair bit of impact on how matches are now played out in 2025, and there is indeed a lot to unpack from everything that Riot has shown us thus far. Here is a list of all the changes that you can look forward to when Noxus season goes live in League of Legends.

Here are some of the major changes that the Summoners Rift will see in 2025:

1) Respawning Nexus turrets

Along with the Inhibitors, the Nexus Turrets will also be on a set respawn timer in 2025. Riot is introducing this so as to reduce the hopeless situation that one finds themselves in when defending their base without any supporting turrets.

This will make pulling off a successful “backdoor” significantly harder when the new season goes live. It will also provide teams with better chances of mounting a comeback even when their base is left in tatters.

2) New Jungle monster: Atakhan, Bringer of Ruin

Atakhan, Bringer of Ruin League of Legends

Atakhan from Legends of Runeterra will be making his debut in League of Legends with Noxus season as a new Epic Jungle Monster. he will be spawning at the top or at the bottom of the map right near the river entrance.

His spawn area will depend on which lane has seen the most action throughout the game. He will be spawning at the 20-minute mark with the Rift Herald and Baron now set to spawn at 16 and 25 minutes, respectively

When defeated, Atakhan will drop a Blood Rose which will provide a direct XP boost when picked up. Atakhan will also have two forms, Ruinous and Voracious, the one that spawns will depend on how much action the game has seen in the first 20 minutes (champion deaths and turrets taken).

The Blood Rose drop from a Voracious Atakhan will also give a one-time buff that will immediately resurrect players at the base when they die along with giving the general XP boost.

When Atakhan spawns (either version) permanent walls will be added to the map at the spawn location. Providing junglers and supports more terrain to play around.

3) Visual overhaul throughout the Rift to reflect Noxus

The Summoners Rift will also enjoy a complete visual overhaul. While the river and the blue buff areas will remain as is, major updates will be hitting the lanes, the bases, as well as the areas around the red buff.

Minions and turrets will also be provided with a new look, with the shopkeepers dawning the Noxus apparel.

The Rif is going to be looking pretty red and black once the Noxus season goes live in League of Legends.

4) Feats of Strength allowing Tier 3 Boots purchase

With Noxus season, League of Legends will be introducing a new system called Feats of Strength. It will task teams to get any two out of the following three:

  • First Blood
  • First Turret
  • First to three jungle objectives (Void Grubs, Rift Herald, Dragons etc.)

The team that does it successfully will obtain the Blessing of Noxus. This will provide a small buff to your Tier 2 boots and then allow you to upgrade them to Tier 3 for 750 gold. However, there is a prerequisite to this, for the buff to be active you will at least need to have two Legendary items in your inventory.

But once the blessing is active it will provide a significant buff to the passive effects of the boots. This will include more armor for Plated Steelcaps or more movement speed for Boots of Swiftness.
