Taliyah scales incredibly well into the Late Game. Her best build options and items make her teamfighting powerhouse who can melt through the enemy frontline in a single spell rotation.

Taliyah Pros and Cons in League of Legends Season 14
Pros:
- For a control mage, Taliyah scales incredibly well into the late game. Her best build options let her hit like a truck once she has her core items done, so the later a game goes the better for her. She can melt through the enemy frontline while bursting down any carries that she catches with a Seismic Shove.
- Taliyah’s Unraveled Earth is one of the best disengage tools in the game. It negates enemy dashes and makes it a great counter against dive-heavy compositions. This is one of the biggest reasons why she often sees such a high pick-and-ban rate in League of Legends pro-play.
- Taliyah is pretty hard to siege against. She has a great deal of wave clear and can negate most enemy pushes. Her neutral objective setup is also pretty good and she can keep the enemy ou of the Dragon and Baron Pit with her E and R. Giving her team more room to focus on the objective.
Cons:
- Taliyah is very mana-hungry in the early stages of the game. You will often find yourself out of mana if you are aggressively spamming abilities in the laning phase. This will either force you to play safe under the tower or frequently base and lose out on farm and XP.
- Taliyah has a relatively weaker Early Game. She takes a while to ramp up and start being relevant in skirmishes. You will struggle a fair bit before you start getting her core items done. This is why Taliyah does not do well in a game if she is made to fall behind early.
- Taliyah is one of the harder champions to master in the Mid Lane and in the jungle. Most of her abilities are skill-shots and will require a fair bit of practice to get used to. Her Weaver’s Wall can also be a double-edged sword. The ability is all about timing and if you get it wrong, you can single-handedly lose a skirmish for your team.
How to play Taliyah: Tips and Tricks for League of Legends Season 14

Early Game:
- As mentioned, Taliyah is weak early, and she only gets relevant once you start getting the core items for her best build. Hence, as a laner, your Early Game strategy will be to stay relevant in farm and XP. As a Jungler, you will need to power farm through your camps and only invade the enemy jungle if you know where the enemy Jungler is.
- If you are in a losing match-up in the Mid Lane, you will have to learn to farm under the tower. Taliyah is not too difficult to last-hit minions with, so you will not have much trouble staying relevant in gold even if you are perpetually pushed in during the entirety of the laning phase.
- Make sure to Ward around your lane and the enemy jungle so that you can spot out the enemy Jungler’s pathing. This will let you avoid getting ganked and giving away a free-kill.
Mid Game:
- The Mid Game is when Taliyah starts to ramp up a bit with her best build slowly coming online. She has a lot more agency now, and you should looking to make plays all over the map. Her gap close with R and the movement speed that she gains with her passive allows her to provide her team with an immediate man-advantage during a skirmish.
- While as a Jungler you continue to make plays and secure objectives, as a Mid Laner, you become a side-lane threat. Taliyah’s wave clear makes her incredibly difficult to manage in the Top and Bot Lane. Hence, once the laning phase is done, rotate to the side lanes and threaten to take down the enemy towers.
- Set up for objective takes when your team is positioning for it. Make sure to properly use your E and R to keep the enemy team away from the pit if they are looking to contest. Make sure to not use Weaver’s Wall in a way that is disadvantageous for your team.
Late Game:
- Taliyah starts hitting like a truck once she has her best build made. So once you have all your items done, you will need to group up with your team as often as you can to look for fights. She is very strong at this stage of the game, so always look to poke the enemy frontline out with her Q.
- If there is not much happening on the map stick to the side lanes and keep threatening towers. Use the Weaver’s Wall to close the distance if a fight breaks out. You can also use the ability to divide the enemy team and split the carries away from their frontline.
- Taliya’s W+E is a very powerful combo, so make sure to make the most of it in a fight. Correctly placing her Seismic Shov can force the enemy to blow their Summoner Spells, giving your team an advantage even before the fight starts.
