Zeri has been enjoying a fair bit of item versatility in League of Legends 14.10 with her best build paths allowing her to go down a Crit, Lethality, as well as an AP paystyle. However, Crit-Zeri is what is traditionally built in the game. Her Lethality and AP item options are primarily situational, and will largely depend on team composition or if you are looking to try something off-meta.
Zeri is a hyper-carry who scales incredibly well into the Late Game. But her Early Game is relatively weaker, and she requires a fair bit of Gold to come online.
Once she gets her core build done, Zeri can shred through the tankiest of frontlines, while bursting down the enemy carries. She is currently one of the best ADCs to climb rank with, in League of Legends season 14.

Zeri Pros and Cons in League of Legends Season 14
Pros:
Zeri is a hyper-carry who scales incredibly well into the Late Game. She can shred through any tank in League of Legends while chasing down the rest of the enemy carries. This makes her a teamfighting powerhouse who fits most compositions.
Zeri has a good bit of mobility in her kit. This lets her dodge skill shots and makes it harder for the enemy team to engage on her. You can use her kit to kite around a skirmish while avoiding most of the engage that the enemy throws at you.
Zeri’s ultimate ability paired with a Statikk Shiv gives her a lot of AOE damage. She gets a lot of upfront burst as well as consistent DPS, the longer a game goes. This gives Zeri a nice bit of wave clear and teamfight potential once she has her best build completed.
Cons:
Zeri is squishy with a relatively lower range when compared to some of the other meta ADCs in the game. This makes her difficult to master. Initially, you will be struggling a fair bit to learn her kit and her positioning during a teamfight.
Zeri has a much weaker Early Game. She will not be as impactful before she starts getting some items under her belt and you will need a lot of attention from our Support if you are looking to have an easier time in lane.
Zeri does not do well against team compositions that have a lot of hard and point-and-click CC. She can be locked in place and bursted down if she gets hit by any of the enemy’s engage tools.
How to play Zeri: Tips and Tricks for League of Legends Season 14
Early Game:
Zeri has a much weaker Early Game than most of the ADCs who are dominating the current League of Legends meta. Hence, during the early stages, your primary aim will be to stay relevant in Gold and XP. Concentrate on last-hitting minions, securing Turret plates, and only go aggressive on the enemy Bot Lane when your Jungler is calling for a gank.
Use your Q and W to farm and harass the enemy Bot Lane when they come up to last-hit minions. However, don’t be trigger-happy with Zeri’s Spark Surge. The ability is on a very long cooldown early on, and you would want to preserve it for when the enemy engages on you.
Zeri generally doesn’t have too many favorable matchups so you will often be pushed into your lane. Hence, you will often end up farming under the tower. Make sure to take every CS you get to stay relevant in Gold and help Zeri reach her build faster.
Mid Game:
Once Zeri starts getting a few items under her belt, she will be much more relevant in teamfights and skirmishes. During the Mid Game, rotate to the Mid Lane and try to gain some priority there. Keep clearing waves and pushing in the lane.
Help your team around objectives. Group up with your team around the Herald, Baron, and Drake to help them have a faster objective take. Always look to poke out your enemy with Zeri’s W. Use the terrain around you to amplify the damage and AOE of Ultrashock Laser.
Make sure to kite around teamfights and not just stand in one place and shoot. Zeri has limited range on her auto-attacks, so she needs to be pretty close up to the enemy to deal any significant damage. Hold onto her E till you absolutely need it and make sure you hit her Lightning Crash on as many enemies as possible to make the most of it.
Late Game:
Zeri becomes a teamfighting powerhouse once her full build is completed. She can start melting through the enemy frontline and deal a significant amount of burst damage after activating her ultimate.
As Zeri remains squishy, you will need to be very careful when walking up and hitting the enemy backline. Make sure you position her well so that you deal damage while being hard to lock down.
If you are having trouble surviving longer in teamfights, don’t shy away from purchasing situational items. Opting into a Guardian Angel or a Mercurial Scimitar can be incredibly helpful if the enemy team have champions with a lot of backline threat.
