According to recent leaks, Mel Medarda from Arcane is expected to be the first champion to be released in 2025, League of Legends Season 15. According to Big Bad Bear, Mel is going to be a mage and will have a kit that is inspired by existing abilities from other champions.
If speculations are correct, Mel is not going to be the only Arcane character who will be introduced to the MOBA in the coming months. Her mother, Ambessa Medarda is expected to be the next champion to hit the Rift and leakers suggest that she will arrive sometime during pre-season 15.
While Embessa will be a toplaner, Mel is likely going to be a support to a midlaner. It will be interesting to see the abilities that she finally arrives with.
When is Mel Medarda expected to release in League of Legends?
According to the leaks, Mel is expected to be the first champion to be released in League of Legends Season 15. So if she is actually making her way to the MOBA then it will be sometime in late January or early February of 2025.
What’s interesting is the fact that the leaks of her abilities are using placeholder icons of skills from other champions in the game. Her Q is holding a Kennen W which exploits the mark that is placed on the enemy.
Mel’s W is Lux’s W which the Demacian uses to shield her allies and herself. Her E is using Kennen’s E which is used to move fast and apply Mark of the Storm. Finally, her R is using Lux’s R “Final Spark” which deals a lot of damage to enemies in a line.
According to the leaker, Mel’s abilities are likely going to be inspired by these skills from Kennen and Lux. Even if they are placeholders, they are likely going to have an impact on how her abilities finally end up.
