Hollow Knight Silksong is finally here, and it has some surprisingly low PC system requirements. The game is built on top of the Unity game engine, and runs remarkably well across a wide range of PC hardware – including handhelds.
However, adjusting a few settings here and there can help boost the overall performance of the game, in addition to removing any potential performance bottlenecks. These optimized settings can be found discussed in detail in the sections below.
Optimized Hollow Knight Silksong PC Settings

Here are the optimized settings for Hollow Knight Silksong, chosen with both performance and image quality in mind:
Parameter | Value | Remarks |
---|---|---|
Resolution | 1920×1080@60 Hz | Select your display’s native resolution and maximum refresh rate |
Full Screen | Borderless | Can switch to Windowed if required. |
V-Sync | On | Disable if you have a VRR capable display |
Particle Effects | Normal | Can be scaled back to Low |
Blur Quality | High | Lower this if you experience issues |
Frame Rate Cap | Off | Can be locked to 60 FPS in the case of power-constrained systems (handhelds) |
Hollow Knight Silksong is remarkably easy to run, and as such most players might find it in their best interests to try maxed out settings at first, and scale down from there. There’s not a whole lot to change if we’re being honest here, but that’s perfectly fine.
Does Hollow Knight Silksong Support Ultrawide Resolutions?

Thankfully, yes. Hollow Knight Silksong does appear to support ultrawide resolutions out of the box – something which was sorely lacking in the original Hollow Knight. This is quite the welcome addition, and the game does support 21:9 resolutions out of the box.
However, certain cutscenes appear to be pillarboxed – likely a result of them being rendered in 16:9 instead.
While it is kind of a disappointment, having some form of ultrawide support baked in is regardless, quite useful to have.
