Game Science’s newest action RPG, Black Myth Wukong, is set to deliver an experience like no other for the PC and PlayStation 5 platforms. Drawing inspiration from the ‘Journey to the West’ novel and soulsborne games, Wukong is shaping up to be quite the impressive title, with a reported playtime of over 50 hours.
While completion times will most certainly vary from player to player, one thing is certain – Wukong does have a lot of in-game content to offer to its players – both in its endgame as well as campaign.
How long does it take to beat Black Myth Wukong?
As per multiple sources on Twitter/X and BiliBili, Wukong boasts the following completion times:
- 30 to 35 hours for a ‘rushed’ playthrough
- 50 hours for a more ‘complete’ playthrough
- 100+ hours for a 100% completion of the game
Do keep in mind that these numbers do not take into account the various re-attempts (against enemy bosses, given its overall difficulty) and individual time spent exploring the game world. As such, players should expect an additional few hours added to their game times.
Interestingly, one of the other key points of this particular reveal was that most western outlets have only discovered approximately 40% of the game’s overall content. Many have apparently confirmed that the game does in fact, have a lot more to offer than what meets the eye at first glance.
A key example of this additional 60% content is the inclusion of a total of 81 bosses, the majority of which are hidden. Furthermore, there are reports of a ‘hidden final boss’ that is yet to be discovered – which also ‘exceeds every expectation’.
Further information surrounding this particular boss, such as how to unlock it and its very nature are still unknown, and should be revealed post launch on August 20, 2024. Expect massive spoilers to follow.
