Best gaming TVs for PS5 Pro

The PlayStation 5 Pro is shaping up to be an incremental upgrade over the existing PlayStation 5 console, offering enhanced visuals and more stable frame rates at near-identical resolutions.

As such, the same general recommendation for PlayStation 5 TVs will also be applicable for the PS5 Pro – with features such as ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode), VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) and a base 4K resolution (with actual HDR support) being the most important things to look out for.

A list of the ideal gaming TVs for the PS5 Pro can be found in the next section, divided into mid-range, budget and high-end picks.

Best budget gaming TVs for PS5 Pro

HiSense U7N

The HiSense is one of the better budget TVs for the PS5 Pro

The HiSense U7N is a great budget gaming TV for the PS5 and by extension, the PS5 Pro. The U7N is also available in a variety of sizes, ranging from 55 to 85 inches. While a relatively unfamiliar brand, this particular HiSense TV does possess all the bells and whistles that one would find in a more premium television, such as ALLM, VRR and HDMI 2.1 support.

The TV uses mini LEDs, and has very good picture quality for the price. Unfortunately, the speakers and IO leave a lot to be desired.

TCL Q550G QLED

The TCL QLED

The TCL Q550G is a more budget friendly version of the HiSense U7 series, and uses a QLED panel to compensate for the lack of a mini LED solution. QLED panels should be more than sufficient for the average budget user, and a noticeable upgrade from regular LCD panels.

The TV is available in both 55 and 65 inch versions, complete with VRR,  ALLM and 120 Hz support making it handy for the few games that support it. Picture quality is perfectly fine, albeit a bit worse when compared to the pricier options within this list – but expected, given the compromises that plague budget 4K TVs.

Roku Select

Roku Select TVs

The Roku Select series are ideal gaming TVs for those on a budget. While the TV lacks many of the bells and whistles that one would ordinarily expect from a ‘gaming grade’ TV, it possesses enough vibrancy and picture clarity for console gaming.

The TV does notably lack VRR support and high refresh rates, but for the price you can’t really complain. HDR support is also lacking, but SDR brightness is sufficient for almost all use cases.

Make sure to purchase the 4K enabled versions (40+ inch) though.

Best mid-range gaming TVs for PS5 Pro

LG evo C3 OLED

The LG C3 OLED

The LG evo C3 OLED is a more premium, ‘upper’ mid-range TV that is a great pick for those with a higher budget. The TV uses an OLED panel, and in turn enjoys benefits such as exceedingly superb contrast ratios, punchy colors as well as true blacks.

The C3 OLED has superb image quality, with near instant response times for both the webOS UI and input source. It’s also quite bright, with very good HDR color reproduction. The TV can be found in up to 83-inch sizes, and supports 4K resolutions with 144 Hz refresh rates.

It only loses out to the G4 OLED, but costs a lot less in turn.

Sony Bravia 2 Series K-43S20

Sony Bravia 43''

This particular TV from Sony is for those wanting a Bravia on a budget. A relatively older model, it has come down in price quite significantly, and is often sold at a discount. This TV employs the usual LCD panel instead of OLED/mini-LED/QLED though, which does result in a noticeably less vibrant image when compared to the competition.

The biggest draw of this particular TV (and any modern Sony TV in particular) is Bravia Sync, which allows for more automated control with a linked PS5/PS5 Pro – in addition to a host of other benefits.

The 4K X-Reality Pro engine, along with the usual Sony Bravia tweaks and an absurdly low price do make it very worth recommending however.

Best high-end gaming TVs for PS5 Pro

LG G4 OLED

The LG G4 OLED

The G4 OLED from LG is an amazing TV, and represents LG’s flagship 4K TV of the year. It is a complete upgrade over the C3 OLED, boasting a much sharper OLED panel, with MLA (Micro Lens Array) for enhanced HDR brightness and viewing angles – something that is absolutely needed considering its gargantuan size.

The TV comes with all the bells and whistles, and can also double as a great PC monitor thanks to low response times, image upscaling and almost no visible image ghosting.

The TV also possesses great speakers, with a built-in 4.2 channel setup, running on webOS instead of AndroidTV – which has its own set of advantages.

Samsung S90D/S90DD OLED

Samsung S90DD

The Samsung S90D series is a QD-OLED TV from Samsung, and ticks all the right boxes for gaming on a large, immersive scale – including features such as VRR, true HDR support as well as an exceptional low latency mode.

The TV also follows the HDMI 2.1 protocol, meaning it can take full advantage of the PS5’s capabilities. The TV should also pair rather well with the upcoming PS5 Pro.

Sony Bravia 9 QLED

The Sony Bravia 9 QLED

The Sony Bravia 9 QLED is the best gaming TV for the PS5 Pro, thanks to its incredible viewing angles and unparalleled HDR content reproduction. Interestingly, the Bravia 9 QLED employs mini LEDs instead of an OLED panel, which combined with Sony’s image processing results in a surprisingly vivid output.

As always, the Bravia Sync capabilities are what makes the TV truly shine when paired with a PS5 Pro – something which cannot be replicated in other TVs.

The TV also has great local dimming, making it ideal for low-light situations.
