Artifacts are special items in Stalker 2 that can help improve your survival abilities in the game. There’s no specific place for these items to spawn.
You will start encountering artifacts from the very beginning of the game, but finding them can be a little tedious.
So, here’s how you can find and equip artifacts in Stalker 2: Heart of Chernobyl.
How to locate artifacts in Stalker 2
Before you can start looking for artifacts in Stalker 2, you need to ensure that you have a Detector on you. This device works like a Geiger counter and will beep if there’s an artifact near you.
The closer you get to one of these items, the louder it starts beeping. The interesting bit about this is, you don’t need to hold the Detector in your hand for it to work. As long as you have it equipped, you can use the audio cues to help locate artifacts.
These artifacts can usually be found near toxic pools on the ground. You’ll notice that the Detector starts beeping rapidly when you approach these pools.
If you have it in your hand then take a note of the flashing light on it, or just follow the audio cues till you get to the spot where the beeping is the loudest.
Once you’re here, look around you and you’ll be given the option to pick up the artifact. These are usually stone fragments or pieces of mold that you can pick up.
However, be careful while looking for these items because they’re usually located close to toxic pools, and you will take damage if you step into these pools in Stalker 2: Heart of Chernobyl.
You don’t necessarily need to be in a mission to locate artifacts in the game. You can come across these items while exploring the open world too.
How to equip an artifact in Stalker 2
Once you’ve acquired an artifact, it’s sent to your inventory directly. So, to equip it, all you need to do is pull up your inventory and then add it in one of the slots located on top of your quick action bar.
When you do this, the artifact will automatically give you the passive buffs that it comes with. You don’t need to specifically activate it.
