Minecraft’s version 1.21.60 Bedrock update is currently live, bringing with it a ton of new features and quality of life improvements over the base version of the game. However, players will need to manually install the update in order to access it.

How to install the Minecraft 1.21.60 Bedrock update

Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S
- Head on over to the My Games & Apps section of your Xbox.
- Choose Minecraft from the drop down list and press the Options button.
- Select the Manage Game & Add-Ons section and hit the Updates tab.
The version 1.21.60 update should now be added to your download queue – wait for it to complete. Once the download completes, wait a while for the game to patch itself.
PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5
- Boot up your PlayStation console.
- Browse for the Minecraft install.
- Click on the Choose for Updates section under the game, and wait for a while.
The game should automatically detect the update and begin installing it. Make sure to have a stable internet connection before proceeding.
Mobile (Android and iOS)
- Android: Fire up the Google Play Store, and search for Minecraft. Once within the app’s page, hit the update button to begin installing the new update. Once completed, you can launch Minecraft as usual.
- iOS: Head to the App Store, and search for Minecraft. Hit the Update button, and wait for the download to finish. Once completed, launch the game as usual.
Nintendo Switch

- Boot up your Nintendo Switch.
- Launch Minecraft and make sure you are connected to the internet.
- A pop-up should appear, displaying news of an update. Click on the update icon.
- You should now be directed to the eShop, from where you can begin downloading the update.
Wait until the download finishes and launch the game again.
PC (Windows)
- Make sure you have the official Minecraft Launcher installed on your Windows PC.
- Fire up the launcher, and sign in with your Microsoft account if prompted to do so.
- Select Minecraft: Bedrock Edition.
- Click on the drop down menu located beside the Play button.
- Click on Latest Release and hit the Download button.
Wait for the download to complete, and launch the game when prompted to do so.
