While the majority of the armor sets in Moster Hunter Wilds are tied to the large monsters that you take down, there are a few secret sets that are actually linked to the Item Trade mechanic. As you make your way through the story you will be able to unlock different NPCs for trade by completing particular side quests.

Note: After you reach High Rank you do not need to individually go to the traders to get the special items that you want for the secret sets. Nata starts acting as an intermediary for them and you can just interact with him and see a list of all the traders that you have unlocked and what they are providing.
