Hollywood actor Raymond Cruz, was recently taken into custody by the Los Angeles police. Best known for his role in Breaking Bad, as Tuco Salamanca, the actor’s arrest surrounds a bizarre altercation at his LA home. The incident included the use of a garden hose on a women’s group, leading to a misdemeanor battery arrest of the actor. The entire incident has sparked a wave of media attention and even led to the sharing of some conflicting accounts about the event’s details.
While the details still emerge, here is all we know about what has happened and how the actor responded to it.
Why was Raymond Cruz arrested?

As per reports, on Monday, September 8, 2025, at his Silver Lake residence, Raymond Cruz was washing his car when a vehicle pulled in nearby. The situation escalated as a minivan with 3 women got parked quite close to his vehicle. As revealed in reports, Cruz asked the women to move, but instead of doing so, they refused and started to film him.
The confrontation began and reached the peak as Cruz reportedly turned on, telling the women to stop their recording. While he did, he mistakenly sprayed water from his hose. The water splashed all over the women’s vehicle, prompting one of the three to contact the LA Police Department. The officers arrived at the scene and then arrested the actor, on misdemeanor battery suspicion.
The law enforcement specifics further indicate that water made contact with the two women, too. It is what prompted them to file a complaint against the actor. The actor has now been processed and also released on his recognizance on the same day. The initial court appearance, though, has been scheduled for October 2025.
Did Raymond Cruz respond to the allegations after being released?
Raphael Berko, Cruz’s talent agent after his release, has presented a stark perspective on this entire event. It’s been stated by him that this entire incident was nothing but an accident and that the actor doesn’t have any idea about who these women were or why they were harassing him. The agent has further emphasized that Raymond Cruz doesn’t have a prior criminal history and that he is a longstanding supporter of law enforcement.
Berko further detailed the treatment of an actor in custody. He expressed gratitude for how LAPD personnel handled this entire situation. Berko, further notably said that, during the 5 hours for which Raymond Cruz was held, officers were gracious and completely nice to him. He offered reassurance all throughout the process.

While Hollywood isn’t new to controversies, Raymond Cruz’s being taken into custody set the social media abuzz. Despite him being processed and then subsequently released, there is still a court pending that has been scheduled for October.
