Microsoft’s ‘four horsemen’ and other surprises are going to be on the Xbox Developer Direct

Xbox is set for an official developer direct on January 22 this year. As they do almost every year, but this time the news is supposed to be particularly special and related to the four pillar franchises of its gaming division.

According to a Windows Central report earlier by insider Jez Corden, Microsoft is “highly likely” to talk more about their major franchises, which they jokingly call “four horsemen”. These include the Fable, Forza, Halo, and Gears of War series.

Two of which have been confirmed to make a further appearance in the direct. Some of the titles had been revealed quite a while back, and right now people are waiting for the release. These games include Fable, Gears of War: E Day, and Halo: Campaign Evolved.

All of the Four Horsemen are likely to show up

The Forza series is also going to get a new entry, but there have not been any full-blown official trailers out as of yet. So the Developer Direct is definitely going to give us a new look at this upcoming game that is also going to be released on the PlayStation 5.

Foriza Horizon 6 is going to be based on a stylized version of Tokyo, according to the latest details. This will mark the fourteenth entry in the over franchise. The old school RPG, Fable, will finally be bringing its fans back to the world of Albion.

Catching them right in between moral compasses, which is one of the prime identities in the franchise’s mechanics. It was originally teased way back in 2020 and is a long time coming.

So Fable definitely is going to show up on the Developer Direct for a final trailer that will reveal the launch dates, unless Microsoft plans for further delays. Gears of War fans should also expect some news about a new trailer reveal with a date for Gears of War: E Day.

This title is going to be special for the fans as it will be an official prequel, set 14 years before the events of the first game. The Final and Fourth horseman of the Xbox pillars is no doubt Halo.

But the new title everyone has to look forward to is an interesting remake entry, as it has brought in a lot of mixed reception from the fanbase. We have yet to see a release date for Halo: Campaign Evolved.

Other Games confirmed and Expected Rumors

The Developer Direct will also be a host to new information surrounding Gamefreak’s new AAA action game, Beast of Reincarnation. This title blew everyone’s minds last year, especially because of the history behind the developers. Xbox is most likely the frontrunner for marketing the game.

But beyond these main expected titles, the report also shares the possibility of some big surprises from Microsoft’s “more intrepid teams.” As to what it is has been left in the dark for everyone to get surprised by.

But there are some speculations and rumors floating around that can be gathered to muster up a guesswork. Namely, a remaster of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 as claimed by the Twitter/X account user @curatorgamingx.

While interim teams may also be referred to Bethesda, the same user has claimed that fans should not expect Elder Scrolls 6 news anytime soon, and it seems that official announcements have also poured in, putting fan expectations to check.

That, however, should not keep fans from having zero expectations from the developer. Because a Fallout 3 and New Vegas Remaster in the vein of Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is also rumored to be in development, according to the same report.

This news may make sense as it will likely line up with the eventual release of a new Fallout live-action season, which has been immensely successful according to Amazon.
