The cast of Deadlock is filled with characters pulled straight out of classic works of fantasy and pop culture. Almost like it’s specifically curated for enthusiasts of such kinds of storytelling media. And Paige is pretty much a reflection of that role, but in the game itself.
Growing up in a house that prioritised reading books and learning magic, Paige grew up to value kindness in her life. Unlike her little brother, Bryce, who turned into a rebellious teen, going completely against the values of his family.
Even though Paige tried to look after and make sure her brother got disciplined, Bryce turned out to be way too hardheaded. He believed that dabbling with magic was way too dangerous.
Just like every other sad sibling story, one day Paige came back from the library to find that her parents were crying, and her little brother was gone forever. What happened in the missing span of time is never explained in the game so far.

Paige wishes to find out what became of her little brother
This brings us to the present day in Deadlock’s timeline. Years have passed, and Paige has grown up to become a skilled bibliomancer. But she has not been able to get over her missing brother, and her parents do not want to talk about what happened on that fateful day.
This is precisely what has brought her to the streets of Cursed Apple. She is looking for answers, along with a possible way to bring her brother back. And for that, she must seek out and aid the extradimensional beings known as Patrons.

Before she dropped as a playable character in a major Deadlock update, Paige was already datamined to be in the game. An early design of hers can be found on the internet with a different name, called Bookworm.
As a woman devoted to books, a lot of Paige’s dialogue is a direct reference to works of classic literature. Some of these include Othello, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Pride and Prejudice, The Picture of Dorian Grey, and many more.
Magic can be dangerous at times and Paige proves it
When not in the middle of summoning rituals, Paige can be found in libraries and other places of similar interests, making a living as a storyteller. She especially loves reading to children in Kindergarten.

Her enthusiasm for magic can also get her into trouble at times. She found herself in a complicated situation for showing off Bookwyrm at the library, which burned down a few books.
Bookwyrm is one of her abilities from the game, which allows her to conjure a magical dragon. A particularly fun attraction for the kids, but maybe a few times her brother was right about magic being dangerous.
