Wuthering Waves “not launching in Epic Games” error fixes

Wuthering Waves players on the Epic Games Store are facing an issue where they are having trouble launching the RPG. The title is not booting up for them every now and then, and it has become one of the more annoying issues for players who use the EGS storefront.

The bug is as popular as the stuttering and “program no responding” problems. Fortunately, there are a few things that you will be able to do in order to fix it.

How to fix the “not launching in Epic Games” error in Wuthering Waves

The best way and perhaps the only way to fix the EGS issue for Wuthering Waves is to use the launcher.exe file. In order to do this you will be required to:

  • Launch the Epic Games Store client and look for Kuro Games’ title from the list there.
  • Now beside it, you will find an icon with “three dots”, click on it and head to the “Manage” option.
  • Head to the “Installation” option and then select the folder icon. Once that is done, the game files will open up. Here you will need to look for the launcher.exe application.
  • Once you locate it launch the application. It will give you an admin permissions prompt, so accept it and launch th game.

The EGS issue happens when you try to launch the game from the client itself. Directly doing it from the launcher prevents the bug from happening, and you will be able to log into the game.

Additionally, to make things easier, we recommend that you create a desktop shortcut for the launcher. This will let you access the file without having to go through the above steps all over again.

Make sure you delete an instance of a failed Wuthering Waves launch

Wuthering Waves failed launch instances from the Epic Games Store often remain as a background process for a while. This can prevent any subsequent launches of the game.

To deal with it, you will need to open Task Manager and look for “KRLauncherEpic“. When you find it, just select it and delete click on “End Task”.

By doing this you successfully close a failed instance of the game which was running in the background.
