With the PTR currently underway, fans are eagerly waiting for Diablo 4 Season 5 to start. This new season will include a host of new features including itemization and new endgame content.
Although Diablo 4 Season 4 was scheduled to start during April, Blizzard delayed the season to make some necessary changes to the game, while conducting the first Public Test Realm for the game.
So when does Diablo 4 Season 5 start, and when does Season 4 end?
Diablo 4 Season 5 start date
Diablo 4 Season 5 will start on August 6, 2024, as mentioned on their official website. Although they’ve not mentioned a time, it can be assumed that the new season will go live sometime around 5 PM GMT / 1 PM ET / 10 AM PT.
Once the new season goes live, you will have to make a new Seasonal character, because your current character will be transported to the Seasonal Realm.

Diablo 4 Season 4 end date
Diablo 4 Season 4 will end on August 6, 2024, and will immediately lead into Season 5. Unlike some other games, Blizzard does not introduce any delays between two seasons.
Assuming that you’ve made the most progress on a Seasonal character during Season of the Construct, before you create a new character in Season 5, it’s important that you log in with that character first, if you want your progress to carry over.

What carries over into the new Diablo 4 Season?
Here’s a list of everything that carries over into the new season:
- Renown
- Additional Renown-based skill points
- Additional Renown-based paragon points
- Potion capacity
- Obol capacity
- Altar of Lilith unlocks
It’s also worth remembering that whatever fog of war that you’ve cleared will carry over to the new season, but when it comes to the Waypoints, you will still have to manually visit and unlock all of them before you can fast-travel to them.
