The Ring of Misfortune is a rare Ancestral Unique that you will be able to obtain through a secret series of steps in Diablo 4. The methods to getting it is very convoluted and you will have to complete them in a particular order out in the open world to finally get the item.
Obtaining it is linked closely to the Lucky Coin mechanic in the RPG. The guide below will therefore go over everything you need to do to obtain the Ring of Misfortune in Diablo 4.
How to easily get the Ring of Misfortune in Diablo 4
To get the Ring of Misfortune Ancestral Unique you will need to have one character of each class to offer a Lucky Coin to the Wishing Well. The characters will be required to do it one after the other and this needs to happen in the same instance.
So five players will need to cooperate to toss a lucky coin in the Wishing Well. However, do keep in mind that five players can become six players once the Spiritborn Class releases in a future update.
The best way to go about doing it will be to form a party with four different classes. Then once a member tosses a coin in the well, ask them to leave the part but remain on in the same realm. Then invite a player from the remaining class to your party and then toss a Lucky Coin in one after another.
Where is the Wishing Well in Diablo 4?

To find the Wishing Well you will need to head east of Cerrigar in Scosglen. You will not be able to interact with the structure until you have a Lucky Coin in your inventory.
If you have one, you will notice a button prompt that will then ask you to toss the coin in if you choose to go with it.
Once you have tossed a coin in with a group of players who belong to different classes, each of you will be able to obtain a Ring of Misfortune.
If you are just tossing a coin in alone then the only reward that you will get is an unlocked title, “Well Wisher”.
How to farm Lucky Coins in Diablo 4
To get Lucky Coins in the game you will be required to loot an NPC that has been killed by an enemy in the Overworld. However, you will need to loot them after having met the two conditions while searching their body:
- Have a Lucky Hit Chance that exceeds +50%
- Be under the effect of a Greed Shrine
The Shrine of Greed effect lasts for a very short time, so to make the most of it for a Lucky COin you will need to find one that is in an area where NPCs are very likely to get killed. One of the best spots for this will be in the western part of the Strand region in Scosglen.
You will usually find a Greed Shrine there that keeps spawning near an area where NPCs are frequently killed.
Once you meet the conditions, you can loot the bodies to obtain Lucky Coins.
