The outcry of fans has been severe and swift. It primarily unfolded on social platforms like Bluesky. Inugami Korone defenders didn’t stay behind

In stark contrast to this entire incident, there are a few within the social media community who have rushed to the defense of Korone. As per their argument, art is separate from its artists. Supporters have emphasized that Korone, the Japanese streamer, was quite likely unaware about deeply entrenched Western political debate that surrounds this game. As per them, she was just engaging with the popular title for the purpose of entertainment.

As per the supporters, hate in this case is a misdirected attack. Their defense even framed the entire backlash as “pathetically terminally online behavior,” wherein the vocal minority was attempting for cancelling the creator for a perceived slight, without actually considering intent or context here. The incident further underscores an ongoing cultural clash—expectations from creators for being aware of all international and socio-political concerns vs the reality of localized content as well as audience engagement.
