All Ailments (Banes) in Black Myth Wukong and how to cure them

As you make your way through the various chapters and bosses in Black Myth Wukong you will eventually be inflicted with status ailments which are also called Banes. Especially in the later chapters, many enemy attacks and abilities are likely to inflict the Destined One with a status effect.

There are a total of four ailments that you will come across in the action-adventure and each of them has a specific effect on your character. Fortunately, there are ways by which you will be able to cure the effects.

Specific consumables cures bane and ailments

As mentioned, there are a total of four banes that you will have to deal with in Black Myth Wukong:

  • Shock
  • Burn
  • Poison
  • Chill

Each of the ailments has a different effect on the Destined One’s health and movement, so you will need to learn about all the specific ways of countering them.

Here is the effect and cure for every ailment in Black Myth Wukong:

ShockWhen the character is afflicted with Shock, he will take more damage than normal. This makes it a deadly blight to have on you if you are up against a boss who already hits like a truck.To cure Shock effect, you’ll need to use Shock-Quelling Powder.
BurnWhen your character’s burn gauge is full, they will catch on fire and keel loosing HP over time. Scorch Bane is one of the more common ailemnts you will be up against in Black Myth Wukong.To cure burn you will just need to roll around a few times to extinguish the flames on your body.
PoisonWhen you are poisoned you will slowly lose health. The effect stays for a pretty long time and is incredibly annoying to deal with.
To cure poison you can either wait for the effect to run out or use the Antimiasma Powder. It is a type of consumable that can be crafted at a Keeper’s Shrine using different herbs.
ChillChill too causes a damage over time effect. You will face this ailment in the later chapters of the narrative.To cure Chill, you need to use Body-Warming Powder or rest at the Keeper’s Shrine.

How to improve Bane mitigation in Black Myth Wukong

As you earn more Sparks you will be able to invest them in the Self-Advancement section of the main menu to unlock passive skills which will improve the Destined One’s resistance to all the banes and ailments. Once you put points into those skills the duration of which the status will last will go down significantly.

Additionally, some of the best Armor sets as well as Spirits will also let you get some immunity towards some of the statuses. For example, the Poison Ward Centipede Armor Set will reduce the continuous damage taken from poison.
