All Marvel Rivals team-up abilities ranked

The gameplay in Marvel Rivals, NetEase’s newest free to play shooter, largely revolves around the characters you use. They not only have a wide range of unique skills but also synergize with other units to trigger team-up abilities.

Team-up abilities in Marvel Rivals can be game-changing so they should be a primary factor before you finalize your team, especially in Ranked modes. Choosing the right team-up ability can be confusing due to the variety, so here’s a list ranking all Marvel Rivals team-up abilities.

Best team-up abilities in Marvel Rivals

It is important to note that each team-up includes a Leader who usually grants a skill, protection, a buff, or a revival to its allies and their absence is a must for triggering any of these abilities.

10. Dimensional Shortcut

Dimensional Shortcut team-up ability in Marvel Rivals
  • Team members – Magik (Leader) + Black Panther (Ally)
  • Ability – Both Magik & Black Panther can create a Limbo Disk, letting them teleport and initiate flanks.

The Dimensional Shortcut is not a bad team-up ability just because it has the last rank on our list. In a fast-paced title like Marvel Rivals, the ability to teleport quickly and flank at your own will can surprise the opponents if used correctly.

However, the lack of any damage buffs makes this team-up a bit underwhelming and as we move up the list, you’ll understand why. In the current meta, the best team compositions rarely include Magik and Black Panther, the two characters required for this team-up.

9. Symbiote Bond

Symbiote Bond team-up ability in Marvel Rivals
  • Team members – Venom (Leader) + Spider-Man (Ally) or Peni Parker (Ally)
  • Ability – Spider-Man and Peni Parker can use Venom’s symbiote spikes, letting them crowd-control opponents and deal some damage.

Yes, Venom might be the strongest character in Marvel Rivals but for now, his team-up with Spider-Man or Peni Parker isn’t as empowering as you’d expect.

Venom is quite a selfish character and so far, Spider-Man and Peni Parker have failed to be seen as the best DPS or tank options. Even with the Symbiote Bond, they aren’t as potent as other available Heroes.

Crowd-control is great, but this team-up doesn’t solve the core problems such as Spider Man’s poor survivability and Peni Parker’s abysmal damage absorption.

8. Voltaic Union

Voltaic Union team-up ability in Marvel Rivals
  • Team members – Thor (Leader) + Storm (Ally)
  • Ability – Storm gains Thorforce. She then gets an additional lightning attack which chains to nearby opponents.

Thor struggles to excel in the current Marvel Rivals meta because of his complex kit, but Storm is an excellent support unit and her damage output is increased drastically through this team-up.

While the bonus damage is great for Storm, it hardly adds to her support skills which might’ve been favorable considering her role in the team. Regardless, you can always depend on Voltaic Union to catch the opponents off-guard and deal damage when they least expect it.

7. Planet x Pals

Planet x Pals team-up ability in Marvel Rivals
  • Team members – Groot (Leader) + Rocket Raccoon (Ally) or Jeff The Land Shark (Ally)
  • Ability – Jeff The Land Shark and Rocket Raccoon can hop on to Groot during games and while on his shoulders, they heal the carrier and take reduced damage.

Rocket Raccoon might not be the best support character in Marvel Rivals, but it surely boasts some of the most powerful team-up abilities in the game. With Groot, he gets a new elevated POV and turns into an even better healer.

You can use Planet x Pals to strengthen your frontline as Groot can be a solid tank while Raccoon or Jeff The Land Shark steadily deal damage. However, we’ve placed it lower on this list because of the lack of unpredictability.

If you desperately need better healing in a game, though, trying to trigger Planet x Pals is a no-brainer because Jeff and Raccoon can make your team unkillable.

6. Chilling Charisma

Chilling Charisma team-up ability in Marvel Rivals
  • Team members – Luna Snow (Leader) + Namor (Ally) or Jeff The Land Shark (Ally)
  • Ability – Luna Snow can help Namor spawn a squid that fires an ice projectile. Jeff The Land Shark, on the other hand, infuses its projectile attacks with Luna Snow’s ice properties for a limited duration.

In Marvel Rivals, your ability to move swiftly and deal damage from unexpected angles is key. This is why Luna Snow’s skills that not only deal AoE damage but also slow down opponents are considered so powerful.

With Chilling Charisma, Namor or Jeff The Land Shark can also slow down enemies with AoE ice attacks which makes things very convenient for your entire team.

There’s no significant damage buff through this team-up but with proper coordination, you can double the potential of Ultimates and other powerful attacks from teammates.

5. Metallic Chaos

Metallic Chaos team-up ability in Marvel Rivals
  • Team members – Scarlet Witch (Leader) + Magneto (Ally)
  • Ability – Magneto’s greatsword is infused with Scarlet Witch’s Chaos energy, boosting his damage. The ability lasts 10 seconds and has a 30-second cooldown.

Magneto is one of the best tank characters in Marvel Rivals, and when he gets a major damage buff from Scarlet Witch, he reaches Venom’s levels of invincibility. His greatsword becomes a primary weapon, allowing him to slash through opponents effortlessly.

The only downside of this team-up is that you don’t get to use it that often because of the lengthy cooldown on Magneto’s ability. However, if you time it right, you can easily change the course of a game.

4. Gamma Charge

Gamma Charge team-up ability in Marvel Rivals
  • Team members – Hulk (Leader) + Iron Man (Ally) or Doctor Strange (Ally)
  • Ability – Hulk emits gamma rays, boosting the damage output of Iron Man’s Overdrive and Doctor Strange’s Maelstrom of Madness abilities.

Hulk hasn’t been a top tank pick in Marvel Rivals yet, but the damage buffs from his gamma radiations can help you make the most of DPS and tanks like Iron Man and Doctor Strange, respectively.

As an aerial unit best suited for sneaky flanks, the damage boost is ideal for Iron Man as he can take down opponents before they even realize anything.

Doctor Strange’s kit already offers him enough ways to move out of sticky situations and absorb damage, and with Hulk’s team-up, he can easily be the most threatening character in the frontline.

3. Ammo Overload

Ammo Overload team-up ability in Marvel Rivals
  • Team members – Rocket Raccoon (Leader) + The Punisher (Ally)
  • Ability – When The Punisher enters the radius of Rocket Raccoon’s device, the former gets infinite ammo and a faster fire rate.

The Punisher is undeniably one of the best damage dealers in Marvel Rivals and he’s effective at all ranges. Ammo Overload gives him infinite ammo and a faster fire rate, making it a must-use team-up ability in the game.

This ability is also one of the easiest to understand. Rocket Raccoon doesn’t gain anything from it, and as The Punisher, you just have to enter the device’s AoE to reap all the benefits.

Ammo Overload is quite a versatile ability too. Be it attack or defense, you’ll likely find a use for it and because of The Punisher’s efficacy at all ranges, you can choose to team up at almost any desired location regardless of map.

2. Ragnarock Rebirth

Ragnarok Rebirth team-up ability in Marvel Rivals
  • Team members – Hela (Leader) + Thor (Ally) or Loki (Ally)
  • Ability – Hela can resurrect Thor or Loki when she eliminates an enemy. If they’re alive, she grants them 100 bonus health instead while not obtaining any benefits for herself.

Hela has dominated the Marvel Rivals meta so far. As an explosive DPS, she needs a tank like Thor and a support like Loki in her team. So, her buffs to both of these characters favor her a lot indirectly.

Thor’s damage potential is multiplied with Hela’s team-up as you literally get a free life to go berserk on opponents. You can lead an attack or block an incoming push easily with this team-up at your disposal.

Loki’s tricky playstyle can be a bummer for many and his low HP makes it hard to master this character quickly. With Ragnarock Rebirth, though, the God of Mischief becomes a trustworthy alternative as you don’t have to worry about dying frequently.

1. Guardian Revival

Guardian Revival team-up ability in Marvel Rivals
  • Team members – Adam Warlock (Leader) + Star-Lord (Ally) + Mantis (Ally)
  • Ability – Adam Warlock grants his Cocooned Revival ability to Star-Lord and Mantis, allowing them to move freely after death and resurrect themselves.

Granting Star-Lord and Mantis an extra life alongside the ability to choose their resurrection spot? That should be enough to explain why Guardian Revival is so high up on our list.

While Mantis and Adam Warlock are exceptional Strategist units, Star-Lord is a reliable damage dealer who’s also easy to understand.

Star-Lord has low health as a DPS, but having an extra life easily compensates for this shortcoming in his kit. Mantis, on the other hand, can play closer to the team with the assurance of revival.

Adam Warlock has a kit similar to Moira from Overwatch, and this team-up makes him as useful as Luna Snow and Rocket Raccoon, arguably the best healers in the game.
