An alleged Charlie Kirk assassination game apparently appeared on Roblox, adding to the list of controversies that the game has found itself in.
From predators roaming about across multiple games, to numerous other controversies, the problems that the game finds itself in, is endless at this point.
While it’s hard to confirm if a game of that sort ever made it to the platform, the company was prompt in responding to the situation, working to remove such titles.
Roblox’s Moderation Woes Continue Over Alleged Charlie Kirk Assassination Game
As posted on X by Drama Alert, Republican Anna Paulina Luna spotted this alleged Charlie Kirk Assassination game on Roblox.
They took the issue to social media, tagging Roblox in the post, to which the company promptly responded by taking down the said experience.
However, this does highlight how poor Roblox’s platform monitoring tendencies are. The monitoring should happen before or when an experience is uploaded to the platform, rather than doing it after.
This isn’t the first time the platform has experienced such problems. Time and again, people from around the world have complained how individuals can interact with children in an unsupervised manner.
Although Roblox has modified their policies multiple times, it hasn’t been enough or it’s been so flimsy that it had several loopholes.
As a platform, Roblox is a place where players can try out experiences for free. There are a lot of really well-made experiences available in the game, but the moderation continues to be below what one would expect it to be.
However, the platform does have a vast library, so it’s not manually possible for the company to sift through everything that they’ve got on their database. They could employ AI technologies to help, but that could open a fresh can of worms altogether.
Either way, this recent incident has brought Roblox into focus for the wrong reasons once again. It’ll be worth seeing what steps the developers take moving forward, to avoid such instances in the future.
