EA is not really everyone’s favorite company when it comes to marketing decisions and game publishing. But one of the few big contributions the publisher ever made has to be Star Wars Jedi Of The Fallen Order.

The company took its rights for the Star Wars IP and finally gave fans a single-player experience that they had been waiting for. Jedi Of The Fallen Order quickly became a success for its Souls-like gameplay.

It was preceded by a successful sequel, Star Wars: Jedi Survivor, which follows the same protagonist from the last game. If you were keeping an eye out to get the game on discount, now is the time to check it out on Steam.

Dark Souls: Remastered (-50% off)

While on the topic of Souls like let’s not forget what pushed this whole sub-genre to the forefront. Hidetaka Miyazaki created the masterpiece that was Demon Souls, and after that came Dark Souls, which further tipped the scales forward to greatness.

But unfortunately, Dark Souls was not always available on every platform. This changed with the release of Dark Souls: Remastered. So this is pretty much the definitive edition that you should seek if you are looking to get into this series. With Black Friday sale, now is the best time.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice (-50% off)

Let’s keep the ball rolling with another game from the creators of the Dark Souls series. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is technically not a Souls-like game, but it does implement a lot of features from those games.

It is not an RPG like the other FromSoftware games, but a character action game. Sekiro was originally conceived as a follow-up to the legendary Tenchu series, but then it spawned into its own thing.

If you are looking for a FromSoftware game that is not set in a medieval West, then Sekiro is the perfect title to pick up on this Black Friday Sale.

Setllar Blade (-20% off)

We are sorry if we gave the impression that our souls, like a roller coaster, were coming to an end. But this time it’s different in the sense that we aren’t talking about FromSoftware games.

The souls-like sub-genre of action games has seeped into several video games now, and one of them is the highly popular Stellar Blade, which was recently released for PlayStation 5. Created by the Korean studio Shift-Up, they blew everyone’s expectations with this game because it was their first attempt at a AAA title.

PlayStation games are not usually cheap on the Steam platform, but with Black Friday right now, there’s a considerable amount of discount, which makes the game highly affordable.

Hogwarts Legacy (-85% off)

Long before the critically acclaimed Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, revived turn-based games, or so the casual fans of gaming say, there was a game by Atlus that did it. The fifth entry in the acclaimed Persona series was a monumental title that is still getting milked by the company to this day.

Japanese RPGs are usually really pricey if you are trying to get the highly acclaimed ones from recent years. Persona 5 Royale edition is no different unless it’s the Balck Friday sale, which is exactly why we put it on our list. Now is the right time to start your Persona journey if you have never dabbled in it.

We are not done with Atlus RPGs because after Persona 5, the company went on a roll, creating some of the most acclaimed titles in the turn-based game genre. One of these titles is Metaphor ReFantazio, which is directed by the legendary Katsura Hashino.

The game takes every popular element from Atlus RPGs and blends them into a piece of art. If you yearn for the long-lost days of turn-based JRPGs with an incredible art style, then this game is just what you need. Metaphor ReFantazio is having its first big sale year since its release, thanks to Black Friday.

In 2017, Koei Tecmo’s Team Ninja shocked the action game fandom with a new IP titled Nioh. It looked like it was following the same footsteps as a Souls game, but with gameplay that was much brutal and faster.

Nioh is one of the most successful Koei Tecmo action game franchises in years, so it definitely needed a sequel, which we finally got in 2020. If you have never dabbled in this franchise, then this black friday is the perfect time to check it out.

The First Berserker Khazan Easy Mode explained

We lied because we just had to squeeze in another souls-like game in this list. But trust us, there’s a reason why there are so many of them around; people really like the genre, and maybe you will like this one too.

First Berserker Khazan is one of the recent souls-like game releases that you should check out this Black Friday. It is set in the greater Dungeon Fighter Online universe, which is a whole different story, but one can simply enjoy this one as a standalone game.

Disco Elysium – Final Cut (-75% off)

Let’s flip the switches for real and talk about a game genre that has not been discussed in the list yet. Point and click RPGs/Adventure games are a thing of the past, but ZA/UM’s Disco Elysium in 2019 changed that.

This game brought back the fun of adventure RPGs with die rolling for checks and hilarious dialogues in video games. What happened to the original developers of the game is not a fun story to discuss and should be kept for another time.

But if you want to pick up one of the greatest video games of the recent decade, then do check out Disco Elysium, now with the final cut releases available on this Black Friday sale.

Ghost of Tsushima – Director’s Cut (-40% off)

We mentioned of the popular PlayStation titles in this list above. These ports of the popular console games are directly published by Sony themselves and hence are usually very pricey.

Which is exactly why Black Friday is the right time to grab them, and we should be talking about a few more of them. Starting with Ghost of Tsushima by Sucker Punch Studios.

This game is special and a must-play because it is a perfectly crafted Japanese action game by a studio from the West. Set in an alternate history timeline, this game was praised heavily by players from Japan as well. Now is the perfect time to grab the Director’s Cut version of the title.

Returnal (-60% off)

We don’t get this comparison too often, as not many agree with this, but if you are an avid fan of the Metroid franchise from Nintendo, then PlayStation’s Returnal seems like the perfect game for you.

This is because Returnal literally feels like the modern era PlayStation’s take on the Metroid franchise. You have to skillfully dodge your way through incoming attacks while also platforming and shooting in environments that are completely alien.

But the game is not at all a rip-off of the popular Nintendo IP; it is very much its own thing and is incredibly fun. So we highly recommend that you check it out during this Black Friday Sale.

God of War (-60% off)

God of War is one of PlayStation’s primary IPs, literally a game that built the reputation of the console. In 2018, Sony surprised the world with a new entry in the franchise that would further expand upon Kratos’ story.

It was being developed by the Sony Santa Monica studio, but it was not the same God of War as we last remembered it on the PlayStation 3. This was a reboot of how the game worked with a more cinematic storytelling approach, which was a huge hit and brought in a new group of fans to the franchise.

The game was one of the first few major PlayStation titles to be ported to the PC system through Steam and is still very popular on the platform. But for whatever reason, if you have been keeping yourself from checking it out, then Black Friday is the perfect time to pick it up.

Avowed Standard Edition (-33% off)

While on the topic of console ports, we should also not forget about Microsoft’s gaming division, which still helps produce some great titles. One of them is Avowed, which was just released this year and is already on the Black Friday Sale with a decently discounted price.

Avowed is developed by Obsidian Entertainment, who are known for games such as Fallout New Vegas and the Outer Worlds franchise. This time, they gave us their own take on the medieval fantasy game genre.

One can never have enough of medieval fantasy in their life, so what’s keeping you from grabbing this one? If you like first-person fantasy action like the Elder Scrolls games, then Avowed should be right up your alley.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 (-58% off)

The follow-up to Dragon’s Dogma, Capcom’s critically acclaimed take on the medieval fantasy action genre, finally came in 2024. Dragon’s Dogma 2 was created by the returning director Hideaki Itsuno, the legendary director of Devil May Cry 5 and other games.

He had been dropping hints about plans for a new sequel to Dragon’s Dogma for years now, which finally came into fruition, fully built on Capcom’s RE engine for the modern audiences. If you couldn’t grab it during the sale, your patience has been rewarded because its price is less than half right now for Black Friday Sale.
