Monster Hunter Wilds is finally here, and brings with it a delightful experience. The game is built on top of Capcom’s trusty RE Engine, and features the same level of scalability as seen in other titles such as the Resident Evil 4 remake.
The RPG is also quite moddable, and players have taken it upon themselves to ‘enhance’ the base version of the game, adding in a surprising amount of features. As such, a few of the select best mods for Monster Hunter Wilds can be found listed in the section below, in no particular order.
Best Monster Hunter Wilds mods

1) RE Framework
RE Framework is the bread and butter of all modding tools in Monster Hunter Wilds. The mod simply put, enables other mods to work, and is quite essential to have. It also comes with certain perks and features of its own – such as FOV and ultrawide fixes.
2) MHWilds Overlay
This particular mod aims to add in an additional overlay to Wilds, enabling features such as boss HP bars and stats. It is particularly useful given that Wilds does not show its enemies’ HP bar at all.
This mod requires RE Framework to run.
3) Unlimited Character and Palico Edits
Capcom’s deliberate paywalling of certain features in Monster Hunter Wilds is quite unfortunate, and this particular mod aims to fix one of the most controversial omissions from the game. In short, the mod lets players edit theri character and Palico as many times as they want.
Keep in mind that this requires RE Framework to work, and could be against the terms of service.
4) DirectStorage 1.2.2 Upgrade to 1.2.3 – IO Stutter Fix
This mod aims to reduce the stutter seen in the PC version of Monster Hunter Wilds, by replacing Capcom’s implementation of DirectStorage with a newer version. This might require a bit of tweaking for us Linux users to get up and running though.
The change is immediately apparent, and is a must have.
5) Skip Intro Logos
This rather simple mod simply removes the introductory logo and fluff showcased by the game on its launch, making jumping into a session of Monster Hunter Wilds a tiny bit faster.
6) Natarkveld
This hilarious mod replaces both the default Arkveld and Guardian Arkveld in-game models with a monstrous hybrid of Nata and the Arkveld itself. The mod requires both REFramework as well as Fluffy Mod Manager to work.
