Destiny 2‘s The Final Shape was one of the most anticipated DLCs in the history of the game because it serves as a conclusion to the Light vs Darkness saga.
However, the launch for the DLC hasn’t been going smoothly at all following a host of connectivity issues and error codes that players have been facing.
The DLC was scheduled to go live on June 4 at 10 AM PDT, but players have been struggling to log in even two hours after the launch.
As shared on their official X account, Bungie is has been trying to get a bead on the issue but hasn’t been able to offer a proper solution so far. Prior to extending the ongoing background maintenance, the developers also suggested restarting the game client and the game itself to alleviate the issue at hand.
This was, by far, one of the most important expansions for the studio, but it’s been plagued even before its scheduled launch. As players have pointed out, Destiny 2 The Final Shape was delayed following massive layoffs at Bungie.
A little closer to the release date, the DLC was accidentally made available to many players around the world, and Bungie had to step into a damage control mode by nuking the servers in order to prevent leaks from spreading.
A player said, “Maybe the extra couple of months delay and 25+ hours of downtime would ensure a smooth launch. I make myself laugh sometimes,” while another player added, “You had an extended time to roll this thing out, charged for the Expansion big time and still don’t get the Job done to be on time. Oh my, who is in charge? The intern?”
As things stand right now, it’s unclear when the issues will be fixed so for more information about the server issues, stay tuned to the official Bungie Help page.
