With Diablo 4 Season 8, Blizzard has shaken up the class tier list once again. They keep doing this every season to ensure that you get to try out every single class that they have to offer.
While all classes are at par and you will be able to clear all the game content irrespective of the build that you’re on, some just perform a tad bit better than the rest.
The rankings on this list is based on how the viable builds for each class performs across the board, including the current meta.
Diablo 4 Season 8 class tier list
Tier | Class |
---|---|
S | Sorcerer, Necromancer |
A | Barbarian |
B | Rogue, Spiritborn |
C | Druid |
Worst class in Diablo 4 Season 8 – Druid

For some reason, Blizzard can’t seem to get the formula right with the Druid. Yes, it does have some builds that makes it an absolute monstrosity, but those builds require a lot of effort and shine only in the endgame.
But, even when they finally shine, they’re easily outclassed but every single class that the game has to offer. In fact, the Spiritborn is basically a bootleg Druid, and performs way better in every aspect.
Spiritborn

The Spiritborn feels like the long lost sibling of the Druid, who’s just better at doing the same things that the latter does, but in a better way. It’s quick, hits like a truck, and can melt bosses, but with lesser effort.
However, to make the most out of this class, you’ll need to depend on Uniques, which makes it somewhat of a crutch. While the Spiritborn can still hold its own without Uniques, it doesn’t have that kick to it.
Rogue

The Rogue has been Diablo 4’s problem child since the very first season, and that trend continues into Season 8. It’s exceptionally fast when it comes to leveling up, and then starts to lose its charm as you take on stronger content.
The Rogue’s biggest problem is that it’s squishy. It’s got high DPS potential, but if a boss just looks at you, you’re dead. Furthermore, the class lacks versatility. So, you’ll be pigeonholed into playing the Death Trap Rogue only. You can always try out other builds, but they’re not as fun.
Barbarian

The Barbarian has always received a lot of attention from Blizzard, and is the easiest class in the game. There’s no learning curve, and its all about mashing buttons with this one.
With the right build the Barbarian brings a proper balance on offense and defense, so you don’t need to worry about not getting enough damage numbers. But yes, running a Barbarian means opting out of speedfarming for good.
Best Classes in Diablo 4 – Necromancer and Sorcerer
Necromancer

For the first couple of seasons, the Necromancer struggled to make a name for itself as a class. But ever since the minion builds got a buff, the Necromancer has finally started to shine.
It’s literally a class about controlling the Undead and dark magic, so it doesn’t matter if you want to play a Minion Build or a Blood Build, the Necromancer will give you the dopamine hits like no other class in Diablo 4.
Sorcerer

Once regarded as a glass cannon, the Sorcerer is killing it right now. The class is absolute insanity and can do everything from speedfarming, to melting bosses, to a smooth leveling segment too.
Although getting a hang of the gameplay loop might take you some time, once you’re in there, you’ll be able to decimate the enemy, no matter what size they are in Diablo 4.
