The Codex of Power system got a complete overhaul in Diablo 4 Season 4 and the same will carry over to Season 5 without having too many tweaks to it. Season of the Infernal Hordes will be dropping on August 6, 2024, and one of the biggest highlights of the update will be the introduction of the wave-based survival mode.

How does the Codex of Power work in Diablo 4 Season 5
As it was in Season 4, the Codex of Power in Diablo 4 Season 5 will remain a collection of Legendary Aspects that you acquire as you keep making your way through Sanctuary.
Whenever you salvage a piece of Legendary gear, or complete a dungeon, you’ll unlock a Legendary Aspect in the Codex of Power.
Whenever you extract a Legendary Aspect, the Codex will reflect the highest value of that Aspect that you’ve unlocked so far.
From this, you will be able to imprint them on your gear as many times as you want, which is a huge upgrade from the previous seasons. That aside, you will also have the highest unlocked variant of that particular Aspect at your disposal until you find and extract a higher variant.
Will your Codex of Power reset in Diablo 4 Season 5?
After every season ends your Codex of Power will reset. This is going to be true for Season 5 of Diablo 4 as well, but you will retain the affixes that you have learned from the Eternal Realm.
