It’s an essential item, especially when you’ve made it to the endgame stages and are trying to use the Infernal Hordes to farm for build-specific gear.

Where to find Abyssal Scrolls in Diablo 4
Abyssal Scrolls drop when you complete certain activities in the new season:
- Helltide Mystery Chests.
- Material Spoils of Hell chests at the end of successful Infernal Horde missions.
As of now, these are the only ways through which you’ll get this item. However, considering how valuable it is, the developers might add more ways that will allow you to farm these Abyssal Scrolls in Diablo 4 Season 5.
In the PTR, you could get Abyssal Scrolls by dismantling Infernal Compasses, but so far, it’s unclear if this method still works, now that the new season has gone live.
How to use Abyssal Scrolls
The only way you can use Abyssal Scrolls in Diablo 4 Season 5 is to upgrade the Infernal Compasses that you have to a higher level. You can do so at the Occultist at any major city in the Sanctuary.
Similar to Nightmare Sigils, these Infernal Compasses come with buffs and debuffs that will activate when you use it to start a Infernal Horde round.
How to farm Abyssal Scrolls in Diablo 4 Season of the Infernal Hordes
The easiest way to farm these scrolls is by completing lower tiers of Infernal Hordes. Since there’s a high chance of you coming across this scroll if you open a Spoils of Hell chest, and since the earlier runs of the activity are easy, you can farm them quickly.
While you’re at it, be sure to invest Smoldering Ashes in your Urn of Abyssal Knowledge, because that increases the chance of you finding an Abyssal Scroll in Diablo 4, when opening the Spoils of Hell chest in Season 5.
