Burning Aether is one of the most important resources that you will be able to collect when completing Infernal Hordes in Diablo 4 Season 5. It’s a core part of the new seasonal mechanic and you will not be able to progress through the challenges and minmax your character without it.
Depending on how much Burning Aether you have acquired, you will be able to get your hands on better loot in Season of the Infernal Hordes. Hence, you might want to be familiar with some of the best ways of farming them when clearing content in the Seasonal Journey.
Here is a guide on everything you need to know about getting and using Burning Aether in Diablo 4 Season 5, Season of the Infernal Hordes.
How to farm Burning Aether in Diablo 4 Season of the Infernal Hordes

To farm Burning Aether you will need to take part in the Infernal Hordes mode after reaching World Tier 3 or by completing Hellbreaches if you are still in the early stages of your Seasonal Journey.
You earn Burning Aether by completing various objectives in these dungeons. As soon as you enter a Hellbreach or an Infernal Horde you might be tasked with destroying the five Soulspires located in various locations in the dungeon.
You can take these down by defeating the enemies in the circle. The more you take these demons down the more damage you do to the spires.
For each spire you destroy you will be able to earn Burning Aether until you reach the next objective of the dungeon. With each objective, the amount of Aether you acquire will increase significantly till you reach the final boss of the dungeon.
Before you face the boss, however, you will get the choice to increase the boss’s difficulty which will significantly boost the Aether gain after you take them down. If you are confident with your build, we would advise that you opt to make the encounter more challenging.
How to use Burning Aether in Diablo 4 Season 5
You will be able to use all of your collected Burning Aether after defeating the final boss of the Infernal Horde or the Hellbreach dungeon. You will spawn chests once you have taken them out and depending on the amount of Burning Aethers you have acquired the contents of the chest will vary.
If you were able to acquire as many Burning Aethers as possible during your run in the dungeon, then you will have the option of obtaining the most expensive chest.
Additionally, do keep in mind that you will not be able to hold onto your Burning Aethers after leaving the dungeon. So make sure you use all that you have acquired after beating the boss.
