Why is Doom The Dark Ages crashing on my PC?
Whenever you launch the game, you’ll most likely see a dialogue box which tells you that your Nvidia drivers are outdated.
This is the sole reason that Doom The Dark Ages keeps crashing on your PC. The game has an outdated driver issue and downloading the required driver will sort this issue for you.
How to fix Doom The Dark Ages crashing on my PC
When you see the dialogue box mentioned above, you’ll automatically be prompetd to download the necessary driver.
If you click on “yes” in this dialogue box you’ll be taken to Nvidia’s website from where you can manually download the drivers.
However, this process might be a bit complicated for some users, so it’s best to let the Nvidia app automatically download the drivers for you.
Doom The Dark Ages needs driver version 576.31 to run properly, but at the time of writing this article driver version 576.40 is available. If you have the Nvidia app installed, it should prompt you to automatically download the game ready drivers.
Once you’ve installed it, Doom won’t crash on your PC anymore. In case it does, head to the game’s Steam page and click on the cog wheel in the right corner.
From here, click on Properties -> Installed game files -> Verify file integrity. Sometimes erroneous game downloads can also cause this issue, so this step should automatically solve the issue for you.
