“A Battle of Speed! Defeat Beerus!” Bonus Battle is a special encounter that you will find in the custom battle tab of Dragon Ball Sparking Zero. It’s one of the hardest missions created by the Sparking Zero team but the rewards you get for it are something that every player will be seeking.
In the battle, you go up against Beerus as Vegeta. While the fight may not look too difficult on the surface, Beerus will hit you with an attack that will instantly delete all of your HP bars if you do not meet a certain condition.
If you are struggling with the “A Battle of Speed! Defeat Beerus!” encounter in the arena fighter, here is a guide that goes over a few steps that can help you have an easier time.
How to complete the “A Battle of Speed! Defeat Beerus!” Bonus Battle in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero
As mentioned, the real difficulty of the fight is when Beerus starts to get bored and then channels an attack that will instantly kill Vegeta. While the move can be countered with the Galick Gun, the timing for that is tight and there is also an easier way of forcing Beerus to not trigger his attack.
Here are the two things you can do to counter the move:
1) Deplete Beerus’ HP by 20% every 30 seconds
The easier way of beating this Bonus Battle is to deal a lot of damage to Beerus as quickly as possible. You will need to keep depleting at least 20% of his total health every 30 seconds which is around two full health bars every minute.
The best way of doing this will be to keep entering Sparking Mode and then stagger-locking Beerus into your rush combo. Then just before your Sparking Mode ends you will need to finish the combo with a Ki attack, preferably Vegeta’s Sparking ultimate.
If you see dialogs like “Oh no… They’re getting bored!” from Vegeta, then you are not meeting the DPS check. If Beerus says “I’m bored. It’s time to end this!” then it’s too late and he will go for the insta-kill attack.
So make sure you are using Ki blasts, Rush Combos, and the Sparking Mode to be on top of the DPS check.
2) Counter Beerus Ball with Galic Gun
Another good strategy will be to counter Berus Ball with a Galic Gun. If you keep some distance between Beerus and Vegeta, you will see that he spams Beerus Ball a lot. When he channels it make sure to always have three bars of Ki for a Galic Gun.
If you get the timing right, a Clash Encounter will happen, and if you get the following inputs right, you will be able to chunk away one of Beerus’ HP bars. This is one thing that you can bait his AI to do, and then abuse it.
3) Counter his insta-kill with a Galic Gun
It’s not impossible to counter Beerus’ attack with a Galic Gun, the timing is very tight but you can effectively pull it off by making the beams clash. You will need to channel the Galic Gun right before Beerus channels his ultimate (you will need to anticipate it).
If you get the timing right, then the two attacks will clash and if you win out on the following button input you will be able to repel the attack and deal a massive amount of damage to Beerus.

Once you have beaten Beerus, you will be able to get the following:
- EXP
- 30,000 Zeni
- God of Destruction Training Ability Item
- God vs. God Bonus battle
The Ability Item will give your character a significant boost to Max HP when equipped. The God vs. God Battle is a bonus encounter which then in turn unlocks Zamasu’s Greatest Mistake. You will need the latter to unlock Bardock if have not purchased him already.
If you have already purchased God of Destruction Training from the store, you will receive 150,000 Zeni instead.
