EA FC 25 is all over the social media platforms on the back of some major leaks over the course of last weekend.
The overall ratings of several footballers have been leaked, including the top 50 cards. If you’re excited to try out the game, here’s all the information about when it goes live, and how many editions are available.
EA FC 25 Release Date
The upcoming title goes live globally on September 21 with early access. There are two separate ways to play early. You can own the Ultimate Edition, which automatically entitles you to the benefit of early game time.
Alternatively, there’s a 10 hour trial that goes live at the same time if you have access to EA Play (or EA Play Pro) subscription.
Do note that you’ll be able to first access the trial and then convert it to a full purchase later. In that case, you’ll end up with a 10% discount on any purchase.
All EA FC 25 editions explained
EA Sports has followed their tried and tested formula, and EA FC 25 will be available in two separate editions. The Standard Edition, priced at $69.99 ($59.99 on old-gen), comes with the base game and a handful of bonus offerings.
The Ultimate Edition, priced at $99.99, has a lot of extra stuff. This includes up to seven days of early access and other benefits (mostly related to Ultimate Team). The Ultimate Edition is perfect for those who love to invest their time and energy into the Ultimate Team mode, as they also get 4600 FC Points.
Do note that the early pre-order bonus for the Ultimate Edition is no longer available. Those who ordered on or before August 20th would get a bonus Origin Hero card, which will be upgraded to Prime Hero in November 2024.
Which platforms will EA FC 25 be available on?
There won’t be any change in terms of platform availability this year. Once again, the game will be coming out on PC, the Nintendo Switch, and both generational consoles of Xbox and PlayStation. There will be differences in gameplay features.
Old-gen will continue to lack advanced features like HyperMotion, which has evolved a lot over three years. The Switch version will be getting a few more upgrades, but the best iteration is going to be the one available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series XlS.
The current-gen will also have crossplay between themselves, which allows all the players to be made available in the same matchmaking pool. But marketplaces for consoles and PCs will continue to remain separate. Cross-progression is going to be absent for one more year.
EA Sports has made some big promises in terms of gameplay features as they are set to introduce new features like FC IQ and game modes like Rush. Only time will tell if the changes potentially become a hit or miss with the fans this year.
