Edge of Fate Looks Like the Revamp Destiny 2 Severly Needed

With the Edge of Fate, Destiny 2 steps into a brand-new saga following the conclusion of the Light vs Darkness saga after the Witness was defeated.

Over the years, there have been several calls for Destiny 3, but Bungie has firmly said that they’re not looking to make a third entry into the franchise.

However, with whatever we’ve seen so far, the Edge of Fate feels like the Destiny 3 everyone’s been eagerly waiting for all this while.

The Edge of Fate Isn’t the Expansion Destiny 2 Needed, But the One it Deserved

The Light vs Darkness saga was built over a period of ten years, and engaged almost an entire community on an emotional level.

While the Edge of Fate does get a clean slate, it had to measure up to what Bungie had shown in The Final Shape. And it’s rightfully done so.

No, I won’t go into spoiler territory, and I’ll leave some of the finer details for a review that we’re currently working on! But it’s safe to say that the story itself, in my opinion has surpassed what The Final Shape was.

And even when you’re done with the campaign, there’s so much to do. One of Destiny 2’s biggest problems was content repetition. Although it’s still the early days, since it’s just been a few hours that Bungie dropped the Edge of Fate, there’s still going to be a lot to do once you’re through with the campaign.

Yes, the Edge of Fate still has a long way to go and the numbers aren’t looking that great according to Steamdb. But there’s still a lot of time for the expansion to recover. And given how Bungie is treating this expansion, the numbers will recover soon.
