Destiny 2 Edge of Fate is the brand new expansion that kicks of the new Fate saga and the Year of Prophecy, where Guardians start investigating the Nine.
The Rite of the Nine, which is currently active in the game acts as a prologue for the upcoming expansion, and brings back some iconic locations from the past.
This new expansion is also bringing in a massive gear overhaul and will feature a few locations that we’ve not visited in a long time.
When is the Destiny 2 Edge of Fate release date?
Destiny 2 Edge of Fate is expected to release on July 15. Considering that the date is almost here, there’s little to no chance that they’ll be delaying it any further.
The expansion will be followed by a major update termed as Iron & Ash, where Guardians will be taken back to the Plague Lands, for the first time since the Rise of Iron expansion.
Edge of Fate will continue until December 2, leading into Renegade, the next expansion in the Year of Prophecy.

Is there a new Raid in Destiny 2 Edge of Fate?
Yes, there is a new Raid in the Edge of Fate expansion and has the same name as the expansion. Not much is known about this Raid for now. However, there will be a Raid Race for the World’s First title.
The race starts on July 19, four days after the new expansion launches, and will be available for everyone. Whichever fireteam manages to complete the activity the fastest, will be win the title.
Weapons and Armor 3.0 in Edge of Fate
The armor system is getting a massive rework in Destiny 2 Edge of Fate. Bungie is doing away with the stat division that you’ve been used to so far.
The stats will now directly affect how your weapon performs and how efficiently you move around the map. Your armor pieces will also now have set bonuses, which will give you added benefits and add a fresh layer to buildcrafting.
Weapon systems are also receiving a much needed overhaul once the new expansion drops, and Bungie is introducing a new tier system with the guns too.

New Location in Destiny 2 Edge of Fate
For this expansion, Guardians are making their way to Kepler, a planetary location at the edge of sol. This new location has been inspired by the different Dungeons and puzzles in Destiny 2 that Bungie introduced over the years.
Most importantly, the developers are adding a metroidvania touch to their looter-shooter. From the looks of it, there’s going to be a lot of platforming and puzzle solutions to be figured out while exploring Kepler.
