Relics are the permanent progress stats for your Nightfarer in Elden Ring Nightreign. You mainly acquire them after each successful and unsuccessful run, and then you can go and equip them once you are in the Roundtable Hold.
Relics are one of the most important items to help improve your class’ overall stat in the game. You will need to get your hands on some of the best Relics out there if you want to conquer the various Nightlords with your friends or solo.
So if you are looking to make the most of the system in the game, then the guide below will help you out.
How do Relics work in Elden Ring Nightreign?

As mentioned, Relics are items that will provide a permanent progress boost to your Nightfarer in Elden Ring Nightreign. You earn these items from a successful or even an unsuccessful run, and once equipped in the Roundtable Hold, these will then provide passive benefits.
Moreover, Relics are color-coded and come in four colors:
- Red
- Green
- Blue
- Yellow
Every Nightfarer in the game has 3 Relic slots, which are color-coded as well, so you can only slot the relic of that particular color into that slot.
Apart from the colors, Relics also have three versions:
- Delicate: Provides 1 passive bonus
- Polished: Provides 2 passive bonuses
- Grand: Provides 3 passive bonuses
For the common relics, the effects that are listed on them as passive bonuses are all randomized. So you will have to be pretty lucky with your RnG to actually get the one that you are looking for during your runs.
You will get to acquire a relic when completing an expedition. Irrespective of whether you die or win against a Nightlord, you will get to pick a relic from a randomized pool.
Now, along with the colors and versions, the Relics can be further categorized into the following:
- Common Relics: These are the ones that vary in Delicate, Polished, and grand, and are more readily acquired from completing expeditions. These are of the following types based on their color:
- Tranquil Scene
- Drizzly Scene
- Luminous Scene
- Burning Scene
- Nightfarer-related Relics: These are the relics that you acquire from completing Nightfarer’s Remembrance Quest. Unlike the Scene Relics, which give random passive effects, these relics give unique skills and effects.
- Night Lord-related Relics: These relics are obtained when beating a Night Lord for the first time. Like the Nightfarer relics, these, too, come with fixed, unique effects.
When you equip a Relic, you will be able to obtain the power that is embedded in it. Some Relics come with effects which can be used in any given situation, while there are some Relics which are specific to certain characters.
As each character can equip three Relics on their vessel slots, there is a fair bit of customization that you will be able to tap into. So, a Nightfarer, based on the customization you have gone for, can have multiple playstyles, which can help suit the situation at hand.
How to get more Relics in Elden Ring Nightreign

There are three main ways by which you will be able to obtain more Relics in Elden Ring Nightreign:
1) Completing Expeditions
As mentioned, when you complete an Expedition, and whether you kill the Nightlord or not, you will be able to get your hands on a certain number of Relics as a reward. The number and quality of the Relics will largely depend on how far you have made it in your run in that Expedition.
Moreover, if you do manage to defeat the Nightlord, you will get six Relics of a higher rarity and size, along with a unique Nightlord Relic if you have beaten them for the first time. However, if you die before your first night, you will only get a lower-tier Relic.
2) Purchase from the Small Jar Bazaar
You will be able to purchase Relics from the Small Jar Bazaar in Elden Ring Nightreign. Initially, you will only get a choice to purchase small Relics, however, you will start having more options in the shop when you start beating Nightlords.
Once you roll the credits after beating the final Nightlord in the game, you will then be able to purchase Relics that are tailored to each character.
To start off, we recommend that you buy the Scenic Flatstone item for 600 Murk. The Relic will then have a random color, effect, and size.
3) Completing the Remembrance quests for your Nightfarer
When you complete a Remembrance quest for each of the characters in the game, you will be able to unlock a Relic that is tailored to them. This enhances the character’s abilities, allowing you to make the most of that class
For example, when you complete the Wylder Rememberance quest, you will be able to get your hands on a Relic that buffs their follow-up attacks with the Claw Shot.
How to equip and sell Relics in Elden Ring Nightreign

To be able to equip and change your Relic loadout in Elden Ring Nightreign, you will need to make your way to the Relic Rites table in the Roundtable Hold. Here, you will need to interact with the Roundtable itself and then make your way to the Relic Rites menu.
Here you will find all the current Vessels that your character has, along with all the Relics that you have obtained thus far.
To equip a Relic, you will need to select a Relic from the list and then place it into the slot that matches the color. Starting out, it’s important to fill out all the Relic spots, even if you have Relics that do not fit your character or playstyle perfectly; the bonuses they offer will go a long way in helping you survive the night.
Moreover, apart from acquiring and equipping Relics, you will also be able to sell them. To do this, you will need to scroll to the right of the character tab in the Relic Rites menu, and here, you will find the “Sell” option.
Now select the Relics you want to sell and exchange them for Murk. Murks are a key currency in the game, which will allow you to purchase costumes for your Nightfarers or gestures that you can use during a co-op session.
How to get new Vessels and change slot colors in Elden Ring Nightreign
Every Nightfarer in the game starts with a basic Vessel, which is suited to that class’ particular playstyle. And although passives can roll for multiple different colors in a Relic, they usually tend to be of a specific color.
This means that red is usually associated with physical passives, while blue is more tailored towards sorcery and incantations.
Hence, it’s very likely that you have Relics which can be perfect for your character, but you do not have the correct Vessel to equip them on. This is where you will want to get your hands on new Vessels that are of a different color to fit the Relic that you want on your character.
There are two ways of acquiring new Vessels in Elden Ring Nightreign:
1) Purchase from the Small Jar Bazaar
The first and most straightforward way of getting a new Vessel is to purchase it from the Small Jar bazaar. Your pickings will be very limited early on, but as you complete more Expeditions and beat more Nightlords, more and more options will be made available to you.
2) Completing Rememberance
Every character has at least one Vessel that you will be able to acquire by completing their Remembrance quests. So just follow each of their stories in the Journal, complete the Rememberance, and get your hands on a Vessel.
