Final Fantasy XIV Dawntrail finally gets a new Treasure Dungeon called Cenote Ja Ja Gural with patch 7.05. The update has also introduced the Arcadion Savage dungeon which drops some of the best loot in the MMO.
The Cenote Ja Ja Gural is a new location that you can access through Treasure Maps. It has enhanced drops and you will be able to get your hands on some exclusive rewards after completing it.
How to enter the Cenote Ja Ja Gural treasure dungeon in Final Fantasy XIV Dawntrail
To be able to make your way into Cenote Ja Ja Gural you will need to open any 8-man B’raaxskin Treasure Maps in Dawntrail areas. You will obtain the maps by completing weekly Wondrous Tails or through gathering.
Once you open the map, you will then be transported to one of the new areas in the expansion. The objective here will be to look for treasure and then claim the chest after beating monsters that attack you.
Once you have been able to open the chest you will get a chance to open a portal that leads into a special dungeon. It’s rare to get the portal, but if you do you will be able to get your hands on even better and bigger rewards than what the map usually offers.
An exclusive resource that you will be able to farm in Cenote Ja Ja Gural is Mamonite. It’s an ingredient that is used to craft the Scientist set of items introduced in Final Fantasy XIV with patch 7.05.
How to complete the Cenote Ja Ja Gural Treasure Dungeon in Final Fantasy XIV
If you are lucky enough to find the portal into the dungeon, you will then be put into a series of rooms that will have two doors that you can go through.
One of the doors can kick your entire party out of the dungeon, while the other one will let you proceed onwards. So you will have to pick the right one and to make things more difficult, there is usually no way of telling which is the correct choice.
There are moments when you will be able to spot a glowing effect on the correct door. However, there is an RNG involved in that and you will need to be very lucky to get it.
Each of the rooms will carry a treasure chest and will have a good chance of containing Mamonite. Some chests will even have minigames like the Gambler’s Lure where you will have to guess a hidden number between 1 to 9 and if that number is bigger or smaller than the one that you have. If you guess correctly, the rewards that you obtain from the chest will be even higher.
Once you have made your way to all five rooms you will encounter a boss and by beating it you will gain more exclusive drops. Twilight Gemstone is one of the key resources that you will need to look out for when you have finally made it to the fifth room.
While the entire treasure-hunting process is based on RNG the mode is quite fun and you will have to keep completing the Cenote Ja Ja Gural to get everything that it has to offer.
