Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 5 introduced Ice Spice as an NPC on the island, and players hate her already. Within just three days, she’s managed to kill a whole bunch of players, costing them Victory Royales and whatnot.
The Ice Spice NPC roams around the Ice Isle island inspired by The Shark Island from Chapter 2. You can either kill her to get Mythic weapons or have her follow you for support.
To be fair, support NPCs in Fortnite have been fairly useful so far. Depending on their type, they can provide you with loot that comes in handy in sticky situations, revive teammates, spot opponents, and engage in gunfights as well.
Ice Spice follows you around and throws Chiller Grenades (works exactly like a shockwave grenade and applies the Frozen Feet effect) when you’re attacked. While this might sound good, the grenade’s shockwave effect that comes without fall damage immunity has affected countless loopers.
The r/FortniteBR subreddit contains several rants about Ice Spice being the most troublesome NPC in Fortnite history. In two of the most viral clips, she can be seen throwing Chiller Grenades on teammates for no real reason, pushing them off structures, and getting them eliminated.
Unfortunately, this is not the only complaint the Fortnite community has from Ice Spice. Unlike other NPCs, she doesn’t run and some players have also reported her poor aiming while splashing healing items.
In another post, user Reeves_Wilmoth called Ice Spice a backstabbing bot:
It is not hard to figure out why Ice Spice has a frosty item in her arsenal. However, for now, most players have not benefited much from it and Epic Games might have to make some amends to make the artist a beloved NPC on the island.
If you’re facing similar troubles with the American rapper’s NPC in Fortnite, we recommend pressing and holding the ping button (middle mouse button on the mouse or left D-pad on consoles) and using the NPC commands to dismiss Ice Spice.
