The Godzilla collaboration in Fortnite is finally here with Chapter 6 Season 1, and players can’t wait to play as the monster in the game. Others, understandably, are equally excited about facing him as a boss on the island.
One of the trailers for Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1 showed a giant Godzilla roaming around the island, confirming that it will be a boss.
If you’re confused as to why there’s no Godzilla on the map in Chapter 6 Season 1, here’s everything to know about the boss and its skin’s imminent release.
Godzilla boss & skin release date in Fortnite
Based on how Fortnite added Doom as a mid-season boss in Chapter 5 Season 4, it is safe to assume that the Godzilla boss will be released on January 17, 2025, the date on which the character’s skin also becomes available in the Battle Pass.
However, Epic Games is yet to confirm this information, so it’s best to take it with a grain of salt.
For those unaware, the Battle Passes since Season 4 have featured Mystery or Bonus Skins which are released mid-season.
Mystery Skins like The Cube Queen and Neymar Jr. were kept a secret until release while Bonus Skins like Doom and Korra were revealed beforehand but they could be unlocked only a few weeks after the season’s start.
Godzilla is a Bonus Skin as it’s already appearing in the game. On January 17, 2025, a bunch of challenges will be released for Battle Pass holders to claim the monster’s outfit alongside some cosmetics.
Back in Chapter 5 Season 4, the developers added Castle Doom as a location dedicated to Doctor Doom. From Doctor Strange’s Eye of Agamotto to Thanos and Magneto’s helmets, it had all the Eastereggs for hardcore fans.
Most importantly, though, Castle Doom contained the ferocious Doctor Doom boss. And in Chapter 6 Season 1, you can expect a similar POI for Godzilla which will surely include a nightmarish boss fight.
For now, any information on the highly-anticipated Kaiju boss is non-existent from the game files too. As a result, there’s no way to predict what Epic Games has in store for us.
