Raiden Shogun’s skill tree in Genshin Impact

Before diving into the best build Raiden Shogun builds, let’s review her skills. Shogun’s abilities include the ability to generate burst energy for the entire squad as well as do heavy damage to foes. Her skill and elemental burst have some of the highest damage multipliers, allowing her to function as an on-field DPS if necessary. Here’s a rundown of her abilities.

  • Normal Attack: Performs 5 consecutive strikes dealing Physical damage.
  • Skill: Deals Electro damage and summons a eye. This eye will follow the active character and will deal elemental damage when the on-field character attacks. This damage will be triggered every 0.9 seconds.
  • Passive: Raiden gains a stack every time an ally uses their elemental burst or when they gain energy particles. She can accumulate a total of 60 stacks
  • Elemental Burst: Raiden unsheathes her katana, dealing a huge AoE Electro damage based on the stacks she gains. After that she can perform 14 consecutive strikes of Electro attack which deals damage to enemies as well as provides energy for the entire team.

For leveling up talents prioritize in the following order:

  • Ultimate -> Skill -> Normal attack

Her ultimate is her kit’s bread and butter. You should prioritize maximizing it.

Genshin Impact: Raiden Shogun Constellations

Raiden Shogun's constellation section
Raiden Shogun does have some of the best constellations in Genshin Impact

The best Raiden Shogun build is kind of tied to her constellations. The archon of Inazuma boasts one of the best constellation trees in Genshin Impact. Each constellation you obtain for her further strengthens her role as one of the best damage dealers as well as a support unit in the game. Do note, Constellation 3 and 5 are excluded as they provide a +3 level to her skill and ultimate respectively.

  • Constellation 1: Accumulates her stacks faster.
  • Constellation 2: When using elemental burst, her attacks ignores 60% enemy DEF
  • Constellation 4: When her burst ends, all party members excluding the Shogun gains a 30% attack bonus for 10 seconds.
  • Constellation 6: Each strike from Raiden’s burst can decrease the cooldown of party members’ burst by 1 second. This effect can be triggered 5 times.

If you want to invest your precious Primogems on Raiden Shogun for her constellation, it is highly recommended to do so.

Genshin Impact: Raiden Shogun’s best artifacts

Raiden Shogun's artifact section
Raiden Shogun needs Energy Recharge

Genshin Impact currently has only one 4-piece artifact set dedicated to Raiden Shogun.

  • Emblem of Severed Fate: Increases Energy Regeneration and increases elemental burst damage by a 25% of the Energy Recharge of a character. A total of 75% damage can be obtained.

You can run a few 2 piece alternatives, but a 4-piece emblem outclasses any other artifact build on her. Here are a few recommendations.

  • 2 piece attack+2 piece Emblem
  • 2 piece Emblem+2 piece Thundering Fury
  • 2 piece Thundering Fury+2 piece attack.

For artifact stats, focus on the following

  • 1:2 Crit Rate to Crit Damage ratio. Try to target a 65+ Crit rate build as her attacks not crit hitting means a major damage loss.
  • Attack/Energy Recharge sands
  • Attack goblet
  • Crit rate or Crit damage head-piece as per your requirements.
  • Targeted energy recharge should be around 250%.

While one can run Raiden for Dendro-based reaction teams, specifically Hyperbloom, it is not recommended to do so as it not only handicaps her kit but also better 4-star options exist that are tailor-made for Dendro reactions.
