Money is needed for almost everything in Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced. From buying weapons to upgrading your ship to paying off the officials and reducing your notoriety on the high seas.
While there are plenty of ways to make Reals in the game, like completing naval contracts and looting merchant ships, those methods unlock much later on in the narrative.
So a great way of raking in a ton of coins early is to make the most of Havana and then eventually Nassau.
Havana is the first port that you make your way to in Black Flag Resynced. There are several chests and secrets in this town, and I suggest you take the time to unlock every single one of them.
A great way of looking for these chests is to unlock all the waypoints there. There are 9 in total, and synchronizing with 8 that you find will let you mark all the treasure chests, shanty sheets, and other secrets on the map.
So just place your markers and head to the spots for fair chunks of money.

Additionally, the waypoints will also reveal any treasure maps in the area.
There are a LOT of treasure maps that you come across during exploration, and the Havana map is one of the very first of them.
You will find it on a corpse in a sort of gutter to the south of the area.
Now, once you get the map, you will then get a clue about the location of the treasure that it’s pointing to.
To get this one in particular, head to the very south of Havana till you reach the area where the battlements are ending. And right beside it you will find the dig spot. The prompt will appear once you approach it.
There will be a short animation, and once Edward opens the chest, you will receive a design and 3000 coins.
So if you have looted everything you could in Havana, you will be sitting at more than 10,000 Reales at the very least. Which will go up even more once you sell all the trade goods that you have in your possession.
Having this many coins super early is going to be very helpful once you unlock your base in Great Inagua. It will let you upgrade your hideout, make the Jacdaw more powerful, and improve establishments, which unlock a lot of quality-of-life.
