Brighter Shores features a ton of quests to partake in, with many of them requiring a certain degree of combat and navigational prowess in order to be able to complete them. The Spider’s Nest quest in Brighter Shores is one such quest, and involves saving the NPC known as Toblaine from the clutches of a Titan Spider.

Spider’s Nest Brighter Shores quest guide
Head the Cliffside Path within Hopeforest to begin the quest:
- You can find Toblaine in this region, trapped between the spider webs. Talk with him to proceed further with your objective – which is to climb up the cliff. Unfortunately, you will be immediately thwarted by the Titan Spider, who will knock you off the cliff.
- Shortly after the encounter, you will come across Alannor, who will instruct you to distract the Spider with Tar Rats while you attempt to save Toblaine.
- Head to the Small Clearing and talk to Hasmish Truefire. Bring him a Golden Marrow, a Snake Eyeball and 2 Uncoated Anti-Acid Shields. In exchange for these items, Hamish will hand over a Tar Rat.
- Head back to the Spider’s Nest and place the Tar Rat on the Big Flat Boulder.
- While the Titan Spider is distracted by the bait, a handful of Level 35 Baby Titan Spiders will spawn – you will need to defeat them.
- Finally, rescue Toblaine in order to end the quest.
How to find the components for Hamish’s request
The three components can be obtained as follows:
- Golden Marrow: Head to Mr. McGrish’s garden at the Timberwell Green. You will have to impersonate a member of the fruit and vegetables committee in order to gain access to the place though – which in turn requires a committee badge. To grab the badge, head over to the Huntsman’s Lodge and speak with Kedwick Shalstanger. Prove your mettle to him by hunting down a Spriggan and thereby earning the badge. Finally, grab some gold paint on your way back to McGrish’s garden and paint one of the Green Marrows gold. Swap the real Golden Marrow with the fake one and be on your way.
- Snake Eyeball: Simply defeat some Vipers in Snake’s Clearing and Snake’s Path.
- Uncoated Anti-Acid Shields: Grab an Ash Log and bring it to the Carpenter’s Workshop. Use the circular saw in the workshop and the workbench to craft it into shields. Note that a Level 32 Carpentry skill is required.
