Throne and Liberty has a neat little feature called the Easy Face Maker which will let you create a character in the MMO from an image or photo. The system is pretty accurate in its representation, and you will be able to play as yourself once you begin your journey in Solisium.
Apart from this, you will be able to play as any other fictional character that you want, by just uploading their image. This will save a lot of time in character creation, and you will not have to spend hours creating what you are looking for.
Here is a guide on how you will be able to make the most of the Easy Face Maker system in Throne and Liberty.
How to use the Easy Face Maker in Throne and Liberty
To use the Easy Face Maker, you will either need to create a new character or head to the Mirror Boutique menu from the Character info menu of an existing creation. Once you are in the Change Appearance tab, you will now get the option to manually change the appearance of your character or use the Easy Face Maker feature.
To use the feature you will need to:
- Pick one of the two options:
- Upload a picture from your device.
- Use the QR Code.
- Selecting the first option will let you upload an image from your device and the system will create a character that closely resembles what you have uploaded.
- Using the QR code will let you upload the image from your mobile devices and once it’s up the system will start to generate your character.
- You can also download an appearance that another player has uploaded, and use the character presets that they are using.
Note: For the system to work optimally make sure to upload images that have a 1:1 ratio. Otherwise, you might run into a performance issue.
Easy Face Maker limitations
The characters you will get out of the feature are limited as there is only one playable race in Throne and Liberty. This means that you will not be able to make orcs, dwarves, and elves in the MMO. So make sure to keep this in mind when uploading an image.
“Easy Face Maker is not working” error in Throne and Liberty
At the time of writing this article, The Easy Face Maker feature is not working for the “Upload a picture from your device” option. NCSoft is aware of the issue and states that:
“File Browser cannot be opened from within the game to upload images while using the Share Appearance or Easy Face Maker options during character customization. The QR Code options can be used in the interim.”
So for now you will need to depend on the QR Code and if you are not matching the 1:1 aspect ratio you are likely to run into the “403 forbidden” error for this method as well.
Once the Easy Face Maker issue is resolved you will be able to use it for a new character or an already created one. However, for the latter you will need to buy the Appearance Change Ticket for 250 Lucent to change their appearance.
Why am I unable to create a character in Throne and Liberty?
According to the developers, some of the servers are experiencing issues, and more often than not, you’ll see the message “character creation locked.”
While there’s no way to fix this error for now, the only way you can avoid this is by creating a character on one of the servers that are available to you.
That said, NCSoft is still offering free server transfers for everyone until October 17, so if you want to join your friends, you can just change your server once the issues have been fixed.
