Gene Seed is one of the key progression items that you will be able to pick up as you make your way through the Operations mode in Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2. This item will help in the leveling system for you and your squad by providing a bonus to the amount of XP that you gain.
However, Gene Seeds are not that easy to come across and the guide below goes over some of its possible locations and how to use the item.
Where to find Gene Seeds in Space Marine 2?
You will be able to find Gene Seeds inside containers and can be located in any of the missions in Operations Mode. You will usually find them in hidden areas, and you will need to go out of your way to get them.
For example, in Inferno, you will find a Gene Seed located in the field right before you enter the refinery. It will be located near the stairs that lead to the entrance of the building. Another Seed in the mission can be obtained from Generator 4’s room. You will find it during the Melta Bomb deployment part of the mission in the refinery.
In Decapitation, you will be able to find a Gene Seed inside a hole in the wall near the church. You will be able to reach this area by dropping down the ledge to the left after entering the rooftops from the church.
Another Seed in Decapitation is found once you reach the Cadian Guardsman. Look for a statue with a sword and you will find the seed there in a container.
Hence, Gene Seeds are pick-up items that are strewn all across the area in an Operations Mission. They will spawn randomly in these fixed locations making it one of the more difficult items to consistently get.
How to use Gene Seed in Space Marine 2
Once you pick up a Gene Seed you will be able to use it to provide your character and your team a small XP boost after completing the minions. However, if a player carries a Gene Seed will need to forfeit their Guardian Relic slot.
Moreover, if the Gene Seed carrier dies, the item will explode and disappear. If the Seed disappears you will not be able to gain the XP boost once the mission ends. Successfully completing a mission while carrying a Gene-Seed will give around a 30% XP bonus to all party members.
