The Mixed Energy Residue is one of the more sought-after crafting resources in The First Descendant. The item is used to make the Crystallization Catalyst, which helps change the module socket type in a Descendant.
By changing the socket type you will be able to minimize the Module Capacity use and be able to slot in more mods to make your favorite Descendant even more powerful.
Here is a guide on how you will be able to get more Mixed Energy Residue in The First Descendant.
How to farm Mixed Energy Residue in The First Descendant

One of the best ways of farming Mixed Energy Residuw will be to complete missions in the Operation Zone in the Agna Desert. These missions have a chance of spawning elite enemies who have an extra suffix under their name.
These enemies will usually drop a Mixed Energy Residue for you. So make sure to keep completing the missions and farming them to obtain the required amount of the resource.
An alternative way of obtaining the Mixed Energy Residue is to break the Encrypted Vaults located in the Agna Desert. You will probably need Enzo for this so make sure you have unlocked him to make farming the resource through this method significantly easier.
How to use the Mixed Energy Residue in The First Descendant

As mentioned, the Mixed Energy Residue is used to craft the Crystallization Catalyst which you will be able to use to change the Module Socket types for a Descendant.
By doing this you will be able to create more slot types and equip the modules of the same type there to cut down capacity cost by half. This will allow you to include more mods on your Descendant’s build or upgrade the ones that are already slotted in.
To make a Crystallization Catalyst you will need the following:
- 1x Crystallization Catalyst Blueprint
- 8x Murky Energy Residue
- 22x Macromolecule Biogel
- 8x Mix Energy Residue
- 18x Advanced Neural Circuit
- 187,500x Gold
The Crystallization Catalyst and Energy Activators are a core part of the end-game grind in The First Descendant.
