The Artian Weapons is the core end game system in Monster Hunter Wilds and this is where much of your character’s min-maxing will come from as you round out High Rank. While there is a fair bit of RnG involved in the process, there is a way that you will be able to guarantee the Reinforcement bonuses that you want for any Artian weapon of choice.
A few steps go into successfully pulling it off in the RPG, and the guide below will go over everything you will need to do to make the most of the system.
How does Artian Weapon Reinforcement work in Monster Hunter Wilds

Before going into the process of getting the desired reinforcements for your weapon, here are a couple of things that you will need to keep in mind:
1) Every Artian weapon has two sequences of Reinforcement bonuses that are fixed
The sequence of reinforcement bonuses that you get on your Artian Weapon every time you are leveling it up will follow a particular sequence. The sequence is fixed for every player and will depend on whether you are reinforcing an elemental or a non-elemental weapon.
2) You will need at least 50 Oricalcite for weapon Reinforcements
You will need a lot of Oricalcite to finally get a maxed-out Artian Weapon which has all the bonuses that you need. A minimum of 50 Oricalcite is needed to max out one weapon. So that’s the base minimum that you need for this strategy to work.
You will be able to trade in undesired monster parts for Oricalcite by talking to Roqul in the Oilwell Basin.
3) You will need a lot of Artian components
Apart from the 50 Oricalcite, you will need a lot of Artian components for your weapon type so that you can atleast forge 10 of either the elemental or the non-elemental version of the weapon. As you can get a refund on all the Oricalcite that you have invested by dismantling an Artian weapon, that is not the case for the components. A component once used for an Artian rarity 8 will not return.
You can make an elemental weapon by combining two/three Artian parts that have the same element or status effect on it. You can make a non-elemental weapon by using three parts of three different elements and statuses.
How to get your desired Artian Reinforcement in Monster Hunter Wilds

Now that we have the prerequisites out the way, it’s time to look into how you can get the desired Artian Reinforcement on the weapon of your choice every time.
Step 1: Save the game before talking to Gemma
This is the most important step where you will need to manually save your progress in Monster Hunter Wilds before talking to Gemma about reinforcing your weapons.
Step 2: Forge an elemental or non-elemental weapon
Depending on the weapon that you want to get the perfect roll for you will need to forge an elemental or non-elemental weapon to begin the Reinforcement sequence. For example, let’s say you are looking to go for a Dragon Element bow that has +30 Element infusion with 2x Attack boost and 1x Affinity boost after production, and you want either of the following Reinforcement bonuses:
- 3x Element Boost + 1x Affinity Boost
- 3x Attack Boost +1x Affinity Boost
So as it’s an elemental bow, you will need to first make a similar bow to start the sequence and check the roll that you are getting. The bow can be of any element or status effect, you will just need to start the sequence of Reinforcements. So if you have 2 Paralysis Tubes and 1 Paralysis Device feel free to make a Paralysis bow and begin the sequence.
Step 3: Note down your Reinforcement sequence
Once you have made the Paralysis Bow, Reinforce the weapon to the max by using 50 Oricalcite. Now note down the bonuses that you get and see if these are the ones that you were actually looking for.
If the bonuses are not what you want for the Dragon Bow, Dismantle it to get back the 50 Oricalcite that you have invested.
Then make another Artian Elemental Bow and check the roll that you get. Rinse and repeat the entire process till you finally get the desired Reinforcement bonuses.
Note the number on the sequence when the bonuses line up. If it’s on the 5th weapon, then the bonuses that you need will be on the 5th roll.
Step 4: Quit the game without saving it

You will now need to quit Monster Hunter Wilds by tapping “Return Without Saving”. This is an extremely important step so do not get this wrong.
Once you quit, log back in, and you will start the game again at a point before you have spoken to Gemma and made all five Artian Weapons.
Step 5: Get the desired Artian Reinforcement
Now that you know that the Reinforcements that you need are on the 5th of the sequence. You will need to make four random elemental Bows first and dismantle them. On the 5th roll, use the Dragon Bow and you will get the desired roll on them.
You can follow this similar process for a non-elemental weapon as well. However, just keep in mind that sequences for every weapon type along with their elemental and non-elemental variants are different. Fortunately, the sequence for every player is fixed.
As long as you are noting the order down for every weapon, you will know which Reinforcement bonuses come up on which sequence number. This will let you have a considerably easier time making the Artian weapon that you actually want.
