In Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, shimmer (perfect dodge) is an important part of your combat reportoire.
While deflecting or clashing an incoming attack can help you deal with damage easily, if you manage to shimmer, you’ll end up dealing higher damage to the enemy.
Needless to say, this is an important ability to master, so here’s how you can execute it during every combat scenario.
How to Execute Perfect Dodge (Shimmer) in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers
To execute a perfect dodge (shimmer), all you need to do is dodge right as the attack is about to land. The default keybind for keyboards is spacebar, so hit it whenever you see the enemy is about to land a strike.
Additionally, you should see the keybinds on the left side of your screen, so incase you’ve changed the controls in the settings, the new bind should show up here.
If you manage to execute it perfectly, your character should emit a faint shimmer. Keep an eye out for this visual cue, because without it, it’s very difficult to tell if you’ve executed the perfect dodge in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers properly.

The rewards for being able to Shimmer in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers properly are high. Not only does it let you avoid enemy damage, it also gives you more Skyborn Might, which in turn lets you deal more damage to the enemy.
There is a learning curve to this, but don’t worry because the penalties aren’t that high. When trying to execute a perfect dodge, it took us time before we started seeing the shimmer visual cue.
However, whenever we missed the timing, the game counted it as a regular dodge. Yes, we didn’t take any incoming damage, but we did miss out on the temporary damage boost that it provides.
If you’re looking to make the most out of your combat, then this is one move that you should master as early as you can, because it does give you an added edge during most fights.
