How to swap weapons in Throne and Liberty

You will be able to swap between weapons on the fly in Throne and Liberty. The class system in the RPG is fairly unique when compared to other popular MMOs as the weapon you have equipped determines the class of your character.

Hence, you will be able to freely switch between classes on the fly. Swapping weapons amid combat is a core part of the gameplay loop in Throne and Liberty and our guide goes over everything you need to know about the mechanic.

Switch between weapons throne aand liberty

You will currently have access to seven types of weapon classes in Throne and Liberty but you will only be able to equip two of these at a time on your character. To be able to swap between the ones that you have selected, you will need to click on the “Weapon Exchange” button.

If you are playing the game with Keyboard and Mouse, then you will need to use the “`” button located at the top left. If you are enjoying the MMO on a controller then you will need to press the “Up” on the D-pad.

Additionally, if you are using the skill of a weapon that is not equipped on your main hand, your character will pull out the secondary weapon and execute the ability. After the action is done, your character will automatically swap back to the main-hand weapon.

To select the weapons that you want to swap between, you will need to:

  • Make your way to the main menu screen and head to Character Info.
  • Once there you will be able to highlight and select the weapon that you want to equip on your character.
  • These will be highlighted with a golden marker and will have an “E” on it.
  • To pick a different weapon in the slot you will need to hold down the selected option which will then place a Silver marker with an “E” on it.
  • Once highlighted a stat comparison box will pop up where you can place the Silver highlighted weapon against the equipped Golden one.
  • Now selecting the new weapon again will let you replace the older one with it.

Why you should stick to two weapons from the start in Throne and Liberty?

While this weapon swap and class system will provide you with a fair amount of gameplay versatility as you progress through the MMO it’s best that you stick to just two weapons for the majority of your playtime.

It’s good to experiment with the classes at first, but make sure to eventually settle on two if you are serious about the end-game grind. This is because each weapon class levels up through their own mastery and the later masteries take a very long time to unlock as they need more XP.

While constantly switching between all the weapons can be fun at first, it’s not something you should be planning to do as you get into the later stages. Swap to new weapons only after you have maxed out the masteries of your primary ones.
