We are finally in 2026, and it’s time to talk about the incredible games we can look forward to from PlayStation this year. It is still one of the biggest gaming hardware and the only one besides Nintendo still getting some incredible exclusive titles.
In the list below, we have some of the games across multiple genres that are going to be released throughout the year and might pique your interest.
Best 2026 Games We Can Look Forward to From PlayStation
Marvel’s Wolverine

TBA 2026
After Insomniac Games showed the world how to make the perfect Spider-Man video game for modern audiences, now it’s time to move on to the next big Marvel property. PlayStation has been teasing Marvel’s Wolverine for years now; it even had to face an unfortunate leak, but nothing kept fan expectations down.
In 2025, we finally got a fresh look at gameplay with a confirmed release window for 2026. There is no concrete evidence as to whether the game will be connected to Marvel’s Spider-Man universe, but if it is, then the fanbase will surely be feasting on this exclusive.
Saros

April 30, 2026
Housemarque is one of the few PlayStation developers that are trying to make games for the console that don’t look like the same over-the-shoulder couch experiences. They proved this with the last release, Returnal, which was a shooter that kept players on the edge of their seats.
It’s really sad that more people did not get to experience the challenging nature of Returnal’s take on the classic bullet-hell genre. But it is not all in vain, as players can get right back into the fray with Housemarque’s upcoming game, Saros.
This new title is expected to expand on the gameplay designs that were already set into motion by Returnal, but this time with more depth and possibly story-heavy elements.
Phantom Blade Zero

September 9, 2026
It’s not just the developers, but even the fans had started to agree that the market for action-combat games was kind of getting stagnant with too many Souls-like games. It’s been a long time since players got a good new action game that elevated the hack-and-slash genre.
Developer S-Game’s Phantom Blade Zero seems to be the game that is going to live up to those expectations. This is a title that is meticulously crafted to ensure players get the feeling of walking into a wuxia action film.
The only issue with this title currently is that PlayStation fans will have to wait for quite a bit before actually getting their hands on it, because the release date is on September 9, 2026.
Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls

TBA 2026
Marvel’s Wolverine is not the only game we are going to see released on the console from the comic book properties. In 2025, everyone’s minds were blown to see PlayStation officially take a jab at the fighting game genre with Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls.
The fighting game community is already a very close-knit competitive community within the gaming space. This announcement was directly aimed at reviving the hype around the classic Marvel vs Capcom style tag games, so it was surely a big head turner for the players.
There is no concrete release window confirmed for the game yet, but it is surely going to be released this year as per the official announcements.
Grand Theft Auto VI

November 19, 2026
There is no arguing the fact that GTA VI is going to be the biggest video game release of the year. The initial trailers for the game have already garnered billions of views on YouTube, and the last title in the series is still one of the most played games ever.
But what does this have to do with PlayStation, you may ask? Well, this is good news for the system because the developer Rockstar Games always has a console-first mindset when releasing a new AAA title.
So fans of the franchise will likely have to go grab a PlayStation 5 as soon as the game drops, because the PC release will still be some good deal of time away.
Code Violet

January 9, 2026
Out of all the games we shared so far on this list, Code Violet is going to be the first game to release the earliest. In fact, it is just a few days away, so if you don’t know anything about it, we will provide a quick summary.
Think of the classic survival horror titles from the old PlayStation era, stuff like Dionocrsis, which is a game that fans have been craving to return to for longer than ever. Code Violet is a PlayStation 5 exclusive that seeks to fulfill that desire.
Developed by TeamKill Media, this title drops players into a world where dinosaurs and other horrors beyond comprehension are out to kill them.
Sea of Remnants

TBA 2026
A well-made turn-based RPG is always a good time, especially now that the genre has started getting more mainstream appeal due to heavy hitters such as Clair Obscur and Persona 5 from the last decade.
In one of the State of Plays from last year, developer NetEase Games stunned the world with a world premiere first look at their upcoming game Sea of Remnants. This title is shaping up to look like one of the next big things in the turn-based RPG genre.
Sea of Remnants boasts puppet-like characters against the backdrop of ocean and ship battles with fantastical beasts and sea exploration. We don’t know much about this title yet, except for the fact that there’s a registration page for the game.
