Is Throne and Liberty pay to win?

Being a live-action MMO, one of the most common questions that players ask about Throne and Liberty is whether the game is pay to win or not.

For a game to be classified as pay to win, you’ll have to be able to buy your way through the different levels and obstacles, including powerful weapons, that the game throws at you.

This is a monetization model that some video games follow, so it’s not unheard of. However, is that the case with Throne and Liberty? Can hit max level cap using real money? Here’s what we know.

Does Throne and Liberty have pay to win features?

Throne and Liberty, according to Amazon Games isn’t pay to win at all. In fact, according to their business model, there are monetizations but that won’t affect player progress in any way.

One of the main currencies in the game is Lucent. This is the premium currency, which can be used to purchase different items in Throne and Liberty.

You can either purchase this currency, or you can sell items on the Auction House and get this currency. Although you can purchase a lot of weapons and gear pieces on the Auction House, that is entirely dependent on what other players want to sell here.

While the Auction House is one of the few ways in which you can get your hands on quality gear in the game, it’s worth noting that you can’t purchase certain upgrade materials from the Auction House.

Furthermore, if you’ve upgraded a gear, you won’t be able to sell it on the Auction House in Throne and Liberty. Finally, equipment that you’ve earned from Dungeons and Raids can’t be sold here either.

This is just one of the few examples that supports the “Throne and Liberty is not pay to win” argument, and from the available evidence, it’s difficult to come up with an argument that counters this.

Taking everything into account, it’s safe to say that Throne and Liberty is not pay to win, at least for now.
